AK wasn't criticising, he was being pedantic. 50Hertz said he got free money for two hours work, so AK pointed out it wasn't free if two hours work was involved. It was so much per hour.
.
Pedantic.. That's ironic.
Think I, ll go back to SA. Spain soon though.

Oh dear. That’s probably not far off reality and reflects my thoughts. I considered Corbyn to be a fairly principled and honest man about 18 months ago. - - - - - - - - He now comes across as angling for power at the expense of sacrificing his principles and what’s best for the country.
Poor chap can't win!

First he was criticised by many, including Zlatan in here, for not behaving more politically to get into power. Now he's criticised for doing just that and being a politician like the Tories.

Seems to me to be just anti socialist sentiments regardless.

Not anti socialist I, m anti Corbyn and his corrupted view of socialism.
In Vietnam there is a massive Scooter club called.... "The Anti Social (ist) Social Club". Think I, ll buy a scooter and join.
Ps.. On work done..

Not sure thinking actually constitutes working in our pedantic nirvana.
Actually being pedantic Nirvana isnt a place. Its a state of mind achieved through controlled thought and meditation.(or perhaps medication)
None of us are going..

A questioning, possibly rational, response might have been to ask if a significant number of E27 firms are considering shifting to the UK - whether as small satellite operations or wholesale. And let us know whether there are any?
The E27 companies appear to be doing the opposite, partially moving out their existing UK operations. At the moment that's just financial services, but I'm fully expecting tangibles to follow if we leave on WTO tariffs.

On question time last night one of the questions was about prepping in case of a no deal Brexit. The questioner wanted to know if they had started storing food etc at home. None of the panelists answered the question directly. What do you all think of prepping for Brexit? Is it a waste of time or a sensible precaution in view of the hopeless mess the govt have made of it so far.
Everyone should have a reserve of essentials capable of lasting at least two weeks, preferably a month at a pinch. Systems can collapse so I've always done that.

But I wouldn't do more than that.

I think its a bluff we have to go through for EU. If we roll over and say we cant have a no deal, EU will respond accordingly. EU should be just as, if not more, frightened of no deal as UK.
This nonsense again. The EU won't be too bothered if we crash out with no deal. Shared by the 27 they can cope easily and they know how we will suffer.

Zathlan, .. No,the fear of a No Deal is not equally spread or experienced. That remains the fundamental fallacy which the UK side has fallen into . The EU WANTs a deal with the UK, and knows it. The UK NEEDs a deal with the EU.,but still does not know it A few EU members,in particular, Ireland, most seriously want a deal, but not at all costs. ..We are frightened of the consequences of a no deal ,and we are also frightened at the consequences of a deal which results in a major international border on our doorstep (Literally in my case). It will make little difference if the pain of a major border, starts in two months time or two years time

I can't see us leaving on WTO. Not in short term, not in long term. The most time span I reckon we may stay under WTO rules is 3 weeks.
hard brexiters make a lot of noises but cometh the hour, no PM is going to go for this nonsense.
The mass relocation or repositioning is going to happen when we know if we want a customs union or not.

Anyone understand Article 24 within WTO?
Esther Mc Vey mentioned it to Andrew Neil on This Week and he ignored it and said she didn’t understand it. But it looks an ideal solution to our current problems,up to 10 years mutually agreed tariff free.
The Guardian had an article that why shouldn’t working class Leave voters vote for Brexit even if they now accept it will make them poorer. They have a right to prioritise sovereignty and immigration control over their jobs or lifestyle.....remains to be seen whether they will hold those priorities after the redundancy notices roll out.
KudosDave

The hard brexiters take voters for fools.
Clause 24 is a mechanism for the EU and the UK to enter into a temporary customs arrangement for a standstill, as if we were still inside the EU customs union.
It's similar to the backstop.

That's rich, coming from someone who thinks Blair was a socialist.

Socialism is left wing, the Labour party is socialist, and you hate both.
.
No, I think Blair was centrist but represented Labour party of the 90s. I do not hate socialism at all, only the excuse for it we see at moment. The sort that puts such as Diane Abott where she is, the sort which gives us the ridiculous defence policy Corbyn represents. The sort that would ruin business tbrough unworkable tax schemes. The sort dominated by Momentum and its dogma. The sort that calls "rebel" labour mps traitors for representing voters. The sort that sacks MPs for calling for dialogue on child abuse. (Ms Champion)
We dont have a relevant socialist party at moment. We have Corbyn. A joke but no one is laughing.
Where is our Harold Wilson, Clemment Attlee, they would be sacked by Corbyn. Dont forget both had realistic views of economy and defence, Attlee actually initiated Nuclear programme.
Corbyn is just an idealist.
Dont tel me I hate socialism. You dont have a clue about my background. You simply assume my disregard for current so called socialists includes all socialists. I dont even see Corbyn as socialist. He is far nearer marxism and communism.
And yes, give me Blair anyday over Corbyn. Just keep him away from war zones, Americans, Bush and Midfle East. His Labour policies worked. No matter what you call him. Corbyn's wouldnt and we ll never get chance to see. He will never get in no 10 and you know it.

he might.
He can easily supply sufficient votes to keep TM as PM until the next GE, then beat her at it.

They will fudge something. That's my prediction. It won't be a 'clean' Brexit but it will be a Brexit of sorts. No I don't think we'll be in a permanent customs union - we'll be out of the single market and able to strike trade deals - and out from the ECJ (eventually) - and of course no free movement.

But they will fudge something together. Somehow.

Good stuff.

I voted all my life Labour until the last two elections. Make of that what you will. Corbyn is a walking electoral disaster - end of.
