Thats one of your better posts, you do have another kiwi trait.
If he does your thinking for you and he is bad, how bad are you at it? Self effacing is an admirable trait. Goodonyer.
You may have noticed that I am a little peeved...

There seems to be a double standard where some forum members seem to think they can be insulting, obscene, shout people down (cyber bullying if we were kids) and tell bald faced lies - it is their god given right and the others just have to live with it.

As for the kids bit, I think that we might have a 12 year old pretending to be a pedelecer - just a guess seeing the mental age of the comments, grammar and spelling that person uses in its posts...

No I have sad little fingers who does all my thinking. He isn't very good as you might have noticed.

I haven't called anyone a twat yet, twatty mactwatface did though (he also posts under fingers I think he is really Donald Trump, such tiny little fingers...)

My insult radar is going off but I can't find the source.

Weird. It can't be AK as he doesn't do insults but the insult radar is not usually wrong.

I will turn it off and turn it on again.

brexit is a very good idea!

Having been accused of being a liar I thought I might just as well tell a whopper...

There'll just be a bit less to redistribute to fewer members. Not as much less as you might think, since there will no longer be any EU aid for the UK's many poor regions.
.
surely the aid that they are giving to our poor regions is only what we have given them in the first place, unless of course it exceeds our contributions, which I very much doubt. The main question I suppose is whether the UK gov will support it's poorer regions or just keep pumping money into London and the southeast

More lies in the press - Tim putting them right:

Not One In Three Businesses Planning Brexit Relocation But One In Six Hundred

The Institute of Directors says that one in three of its members is thinking about, planning for, business relocation in the event of Brexit. This is being reported as one in three businesses is planning for relocation in the event of Brexit. The two are not the same statement although that’s how our entirely unbiased media is reporting it:

One in three UK firms plan for no-deal Brexit relocation, IoD says
No, it doesn’t. It says that one third of IoD members are.

Nearly one in three British businesses are planning to relocate some of their operations abroad or have already shifted them to cope with a hard Brexit, according to a leading lobby group. The Institute of Directors (IoD) warned that 29% of firms in a survey of 1,200 members believed Brexit posed a significant risk to their operations in the UK and had either moved part of their businesses abroad already or were planning to do so.
There are 5.5 to 6 million businesses in the UK. The IoD has 30,000 members. The finding is that one in three of IoD members are planning for relocation of some part of their activities. That is, 0.166% of businesses are planning relocation – that’s what has actually been found.

Do note that the IoD is not representative in any manner, statistical or otherwise, of British business.

Or, you know, close enough, one in six hundred businesses is planning a post-Brexit relocation. Yes, of course, mere pendantry, two orders of magnitude and a doubling, what’s that between friends?

Thank goodness the British media is entirely free of fake news, eh?
so project fear becomes project bulls**t

The term 'hard' Brexit still makes me laugh. Sorry. Look - we either leave the single market, the customs union, get out from under the ECJ and get rid of free movement - or we don't. Its black and white.
the hard brexiters are confusing, spreading all sort of possibilities as real prospects and when some of them are proven undeliverable, they simply say 'we are not the government' as their defense.
There is no prospect of brexit on WTO lasting for more than a few weeks.
Any sane government will realise that 'no pain no gain' is just not realistic and paying zero tariff is better than paying WTO tariff. It's that simple. Go tell those who already have had enough of the experts, you may convince some, but not MPs, they need the experts to advise them more than ever. Even Farage wants to do a deal with the EU asap, he who preaches hate of the EU for a living.
Guess what happens when TM asks the EU for chapter XXIV.

I see that the MP's are so worried about sorting Brexit out that having been told they must work through the ten day mid term break, they are bleating about missing their skiing holidays and wanting the taxpayer to pick up childcare costs. Good to see they have the countries interest at heart. Have to be careful here. After all they do work about 130 days out of 365. Poor luvs

but surely countries like Italy are going to need some support, which has to be found somewhere. Or is it not real debt
Italy has a trade surplus.

Greece would be fine if the rich paid their taxes and the not so rich paid VAT

Spain will be fine if they tackle corruption and tax evasion

Portugal is doing really well at the moment, they are almost at 100% renewable energy which helps their balance of payement a lot

It's indeed not real debt since the EU doesn't bail out economies with aid money. Any bailing out for them has to be their borrowing, such as the Greek borrowings from Germany to get them out of their self created mess. The Italians are going to have to similarly dig themselves out.

EU aid money goes to assist poor regions to improve lives and create businesses to bring prosperity. Nissan at Sunderland for example and the annual money into West Wales and other impoverished areas.

Of the UK theoretical £350 millions a week contribution, one third was the Thatcher rebate never paid, and one third returned to our regions needing aid. So the net loss to the EU of our leaving is £110 millions, which across 27 countries is an average loss of £4 millions per week each country. That's budgetary peanuts, enough to fill potholes or maintain road signs.

Yup.

And I saw this:

In 2018, an EEF survey stated that only 7% of the companies surveyed are planning to move production to the EU but, on the other hand, a much greater proportion (12%) are planning to move production back to the UK. Again, this went unreported.
Still numbers though, not relevant size or importance. I don't really care where Cadburys and Frys make their chocolate bars for example, they just shift the production around according to where consumed.

This myth again. London generates a £50 billions surplus every year which the government redistributes to the regions. Nothing is given to London and the South East, it's just a part of the money we earnt in the first instance for infrastructure to enable us to continue making that £50 billions.

Believe me, if Brexit gives London a cold, the rest of the country will suffer flu.

Not so much that as democracy, not all want to live as we do, or we think we do.

I remember a very brief Evening Standard editorial of around the early 1970s which went something like this:

"Italy's 50th government since the war has just collapsed. That country runs without any government for much of the time, laws are routinely ignored by all the population and no-one seems to care.
So why are the Italians are so happy, stylish and prosperous?"

You can see the point the paper was making, what we think of as shambles may not be so wrong. Italy has been in continual crisis since 1945 at least, but the Italians on the whole have a better life than us. Maybe it's us who need to get smart.

AK. Give it up. So what? Who cares? We're all guilty to some extent. And we've all taken some hits - to some extent. Let. It. Go.

Easier said than done huh?

Sure.

But come on.

Man up.

Stop whinging.

It doesn't become you.
