I’ve just given Dominic Raab an early Christmas present; a globe of the world. He was flabbergasted at how close the rest of Europe is then asked ‘what’s this blue stuff?’ I need a whisky.

Did someone already post the YouGov page from 15/11?
Four in ten Brits (42%) oppose it, based on what they have seen and heard so far, compared to only 19% who are in favour. A further 39% answered “don’t know”.

Looks like the don't knows in the population are in greater proportion than the don't knows of any of the identified sub-populations.

Brexit mis-selling continues unabated. In her statement on Wednesday evening, May said that her deal would give us back “control of our money, laws and borders”, while protecting business and jobs.
None of that is true. Nowhere is there any evidence to be found in the lengthy withdrawal deal.
Corbyn gave his best Brexit performance so far, with withering mockery of Dominic Raab’s discovery that Dover is rather important for 10,000 trade-bearing lorries a day. He reprised Jo Johnson’s deadly Brexit Exocet comparing the chaos to the Suez crisis, and he denounced May’s false choice between “a botched deal or no deal”. As a taster of what’s to come in the parliamentary vote, the theme is Britain is losing control.
We shall see how the land lies on Monday after the clowns on the extreme right of the tory party have had the whole weekend to persuade the clueless in the parliamentary party that May should be given the push.
At this moment, it seems there are only three options:
1) Accept the arrangement presented to May by the EU.
2) Remain, binning the whole business.
3) Vacillate until we simply leave with nothing.
It will be interesting to see if May continues to have the support of her party or whether there is a leadership challenge. The problem with that is that JRM isn't really very popular and it's difficult to see who else might be a candidate.

As a remain voter, I most certainly have not got what I voted for.
Funny how the advisory nature of the referendum is almost invariably forgotten (not here, I might add). I imagine the same status would apply to any further referendum.
And proved totally wrong since the opposite happened. Our EU membership put an end to the decline into the 1970s that he enunciated, returning us from decline and IMF management to growth and self rule.
He ranks with Enoch Powell in the pantheon of false prophets.

I have always wondered how well JRM goes down in, shall we suggest, traditional staunch Labour areas? I'd have expected it to be like swallowing a puffer fish.
the law said it's advisory but the politicians from both Labour and Conservative parties promise to carry that out, so it's a matter of trust in those who made the promise.

Here's a clarification of the groups in this referendum issue:
Remainers: They are the knows since remaining is what we've already got.
Don't knows: They are those finding the issue too confusing for their capabilities.
Leavers: They are the "Don't want to knows", preferring to stick with their prejudices than take note of facts, even as those opposing facts continue to emerge.
