Brexit, for once some facts.

The brainwashing of the British nation, conducted over decades, has rendered the public blind to what is really going on both here in the UK and elsewhere in the world.

The attached article will no doubt be dismissed by the deniers as some kind of alternative reality or conspiracy theory but to do so is to ignore history and the sure knowledge that historical events tend to be frequently repeated.

Politically aware? that is a good one.
Continuously bombarded with lies and propaganda to bamboozle the public is nearer the truth, and even that failed to the extent that a handful of conmen managed to outmaneuver the Government and lie, cheat and con the public into voting for Brexit
is there any country in the world where that is not the case??

No thanks. There are times when I really have a difficulty taking you seriously 'Woosh'

Tom
whatever you want to take seriously, it will be fine by me. If pushed to choose between a new referendum or GE, I reckon this government will choose a referendum with the 'second preference'.

I, d totally agree with you, re Tories totally collapsing.... If we had something to replace them... Imagine your chosen scenario. Brexit happens, causes chaos, Tories lose to Corbyn in a forced GE, we then have double jeapordy of failed Brexit and a party leading country with about as much idea about economics has Tom has for Diplomacy. Feck all.
That really should be frightening for us all... Can you imagine companies deserting UK along with all the wealthy because of Brexit and Corbyn...
The only route to a sensible outcome is keeping May, cancelling Brexit to shut remainers up and Labour moving into 21st century rather than 19th and adopting workable fiscal policies... Then they might win a GE rather than just inherit power and then not have a clue what to do with it...
So what's different to what we have now? nobody will notice in fact the place may well run more efficiently without having to pay for how many hangers on is it? 650! and when you add the expenses and pensions on top it would be cheaper to recruit anyone dim enough to have a go for a year at a time,
Then make them go home and face the music.

According to Brexit voters the EU runs this country, so why are we duplicating the effort?, and they could hardly ball the job up worse than it presently is, could they?

If you think it's bad now just hope Labour under Corbyn don't get in.
A general strike??? That would be a great start ..not sure in aid of what but its labour under Corbyn.

Damn Boris Johnson! He has managed to corrupt one of the classic songs of my teenager-hood in my brain.

Like a trouble over bridge water.

Could he possibly come to understand this line: And friends just can't be found

The British public has been lied to and had truth distorted as part of a very deliberate propaganda campaign by the media since the end of WW2 and probably long before that, judging by the Daily Mail's output in the 1930s.

This report will be scorned and denied by the ignorant, the racist, the super-rich and the tory party but any fair-minded citizen with even the most minuscule iota of humanitarian spirit would recognise that there is an overt lack of balance in the news and the way it is transmitted to the public:

It is hardly surprising when the political leader of the nation obfuscates at every turn when interviewed and does it every single time at every single interview! This recent example demonstrates exactly why the UK needs a socialist government with a leader who puts the needs of the British people (the many) first before all other considerations:

To think that many of us have lived through complaints about journalists being insistent, demanding, question-repeating, and goodness knows what else.

Robin Day v. John Nott
Jeremy Paxman v. Michael Howard
Eddie Mair v. Boris Johnson

It wouldn't happen if the politicos actually answered questions. The height of rudeness is an elected politician refusing to answer their electorate - directly or indirectly.

"Shared Prosperity Fund" - a name dreamed up by a failed slogan writer. What bloomin' prosperity?

"Occasional Bail Out a Few Things Selected for Political Ends Fund", that would better describe the reality, I feel sure.

From the Telegraph
"
Jeremy Hunt warns EU a bad Brexit deal will stir Britain's 'Dunkirk spirit'

And just what does he mean by that?
Brexit was supposed to be a great opportunity not a disastrous retreat, where we had lost everything but the Army, for which I am grateful as the man who would in future be my father was one of them, and all his brothers were there too.
Their recollections of Dunkirk was that it was a stroke of luck after a disastrous campaign but left them with a disaster to face up to.
This wasn't what people who wanted Brexit voted for, it's the opposite.

Is isn't the EU that should be afraid if there isn't a good deal, it's the Conservative party who will carry the can

With at least 48% wanting to stay in the EU any failure to deliver the goods will result in a dangerously inflammable situation for the Government

Have a listen on catch up. Worth listening to. She seems quite confident, but then again she, s got BJ, JRM and JC in competition... She is growing into role... Suspect she has more support than ever before.. What with the collapse of Labour etc etc..
Interesting that the reader comment in the Express must be referring to a different interview as they are pretty much along these lines
The Headline in the Express is this
'May was furious!' SHOCK moment PM GLARES at Marr during credits after tense BBC interview
THERESA MAY and BBC host Andrew Marr shared an extremely awkward glare after the Prime Minister was grilled on The Andrew Marr Show.
"
  • There is something wrong with her, she is not all there. An interview with her is like interviewing an empty chair. She appears mentally incapacitated, unintelligible and unable to think.

  • She is a bot. Told what to do, and what to say. Devoid of any spontaneity. Everything she say are all well rehearsed and memorized. Get her out!!!she is to self distruct any moment and she is taking us all down.

You are absolutely correct... the entire thing is a script... the EU wrote the Chequers deal, and the back and forthe is just to fool the UK public.... It is a scam."
