The BBC has this rather fascinating information
By 2014, the Catholic population in Belfast has risen to 49 percent, while the Protestant population has dropped to 42 percent, according to BBC News.

It isn't completely unlikely that the UK Government would try the ruse of solving the Border issue by offering a Referendum on reunification.

If it came to a vote to reunify with the South, when the majority are Catholic, what odds would anyone give for the independent future of Northern Ireland?

The UK population's reaction would be interesting, wouldn't it?
Well Tony Blair when PM did give a promise that the people of Northern Ireland would be able to decide their future and we've long known the inevitable trend is to a Catholic majority.

But Sinn Fein and the SDLP split the Catholic vote so there's
little chance of imminent change it seems.

If it weren't for brexit, I suspect a lot of the rest of the UK population would have been quite relaxed about it. No real borders so who cares whether the virtual border is at the coast or some miles down the road? Certainly it would affect the political map a bit but with several pseudo-MPs who don't take their seats, perhaps not as much as otherwise.

However, with brexit, there are lots of questions. Having a real border between mainland and all of Ireland might not go down so well - even if it doesn't have that much effect in the end.

So what did you learn from the pie chart?
Er...It's a load of balls......I know loads of people who work 16 hours and if asked would say they wanted to work full time.
However 16 hours is the minimum to claim in work benefits.
Now zero hours contracts that's a Tory scam and shameful.
Jeremy will sort it out when he gets in......Jeremy the Eurosceptic.
By the way I never said I agree with any figures put out by anybody.
I just said I like PIE.

It's a pi chart. Only since maths was dumbed down has pie chart been accepted. It's wrong.
Hi OG. Still repeating yourself I see.
And about the only person on planet Earth who would be pedantic about that is of course your goodself
As to "repeating myself" sometimes it is the only way to communicate with Brexiteers, after all listening to propaganda repeated over many years is the method that gave them the attitude they have, and apparently saying something once doesn't pass the defensive filters armour where Brexit is concerned.

Ah so it's a load of Balls? then you confirm the truth of it with this observation?

Which is one of the ways the Government keep them out of the unemployment Figures by subsidising employers to create two jobs out of one! So one more person comes off the unemployment list as well as them, when there was really only one job.
And incidentally means if they want to make enough to live on they need more than one part time job, creating yet another person coming off the list again!

It certainly would.. it certainly would OG..lol

I`ll give you a `fools pardon` again with your preconception of things NI and file your last in the "Foot in Mouth" folder ;)
you have to understand catholics here aren`t stupid, they won`t be turkeys voting for Christmas - do a bit of research and find out where are the areas here that have the most benefit claimants for example! Tells you all you need to know.
No way are they going to wake up in a cash-strapped ROI that can hardly afford to keep their own show on the road.

New poll finds just 21% support for a united Ireland, despite fears about post-Brexit Irish border

The poll, commissioned by academics at Queen’s University Belfast for a major piece of research examining how Brexit is shaping political opinion in Northern Ireland, found that not even half of Catholics would vote for a united Ireland, with just 42.6% of Catholics favouring that option

And a second poll, commissioned by think tank Policy Exchange ahead of a major conference in London today examining the future of the Union, found that a clear majority of people across the UK are in favour of the Union in its current form – with 68% support in England, 52% in Scotland, 66% in Wales and 59% in Northern Ireland. The ICM poll also found that a majority of people in the UK say their support for the Union has remained constant or has risen in recent years – 78% in England, 60% in Scotland, 69% in Wales, 70% in Northern Ireland.

The European Union
LOL!

Another country with a wretched unemployment figure at 7.6%, nearly double that of the UK.

Seems economics aren`t your forte

I`ve always wondered about a country whose citizens aligns itself with a bird..

that can`t fly!!
In the real world about 8% unemployment is considered full employment because in those countries people are in real jobs with real wages.

And I think you are much more intelligent when you talk about bikes than when you talk about politics...

Well now, the opinion polls do agree with you, but you are forgetting that this statement you made could be important

"you have to understand catholics here aren`t stupid, they won`t be turkeys voting for Christmas - do a bit of research and find out where are the areas here that have the most benefit claimants for example! Tells you all you need to know.

If that is true, why was the majority for remain in the referendum? and when Brexit damages the economy how long can you trust that support?
How will they react when they wake up to the reality of a cash strapped UK and suddenly over the border looks more attractive?
As for support for Northern Ireland on the mainland, if things get tough that will simply evaporate, especially after the damage done to your reputation by the DUP's Ransom, demanded and gained from May.

Let's face it we have much bigger problems to deal with, and Northern Ireland will be well down the queue.
And if the unthinkable happens and Corbyn gets in........
Keep your "Fools Pardon" you'll need it, put it in the "Foot in the Mouth Folder" you mentioned

It was a gradual process when they decided to start teaching maths to people incapable of learning it.
Its a Pi chart no matter what Google says.
Bit of a damning confession from an ex maths teacher that he was incapable of teaching maths because people are incapable of learning it.

And in a way it's sort of "Inspirational" how you refuse to move with the times.

I do so enjoy your posts! ;)
