Pie Pie?

That sounds like a pie with a filling of yesterday's pies!

P.S. Is this the greatest thread in the history of the Web? The range of subjects covered would certainly suggest that. All it needs is an index to rival Wikipedia or Encyclopedia Britannica.
.
Probably not - but pretty impressive given the fairly modest number of combatants.

Ah!
Then we can make this claim
"Never in the Field of Forum Threads has no much off topic material been written so often by so few"
"Present company excluded of course (Ahem)
And incredibly achieved 846,855 Views!!
What does that say about Human Nature?
You have to laugh!
PS: my guess is that 800,000 of those views could be traced to Menwith Hill.......

Perhaps we could sell the Movie Rights?
I am never forget the day my first book is published. Every chapter I stole from somewhere else. Index I copy from old Vladivostok telephone directory. This book was sensational! Pravda - well, Pravda said: perzhnavisk. It stinks. But Izvestia! Izvestia said: parachnavor. It stinks. Metro-Goldwyn-Moskva buys movie rights for six million rubles, changing title to "The Eternal Triangle," with Ingrid Bergman playing part of hypotenuse.

Lobachevsky is his name......My favourite was the Boy Scouts Marching song final verse...

"If you're looking for adventure of a new and different kind,
And you come across a Girl Scout who is similarly inclined
Don't be nervous, don't be flustered don't be scared.
Be prepared!"

When I were a lad the Boy Scouts had Bob-a-Job week. At the time the Girl Guides wanted a similar scheme. The name they came up with was "Willing for a Shilling".
It took some persuasion of the powers that be that their scheme name might not be appropriate.

Don't solicit for your sister, that's not nice,
Unless you get a good percentage of her price.

To help with the increased costs to the NHS of medicines, staff, etc., etc., due to brexit. Still leaving it massively worse off, I am sure, not resulting in an increase in effective funding.
There are some big shocks ahead. I lunched in a Cambridge restaurant today - not one of the ubiquitous High St places - and the owner there told me he will certainly need to increase prices as Mozzarella is likely to shoot up in price once we leave the EU. He likes to use genuine ingredients, many from overseas and as a small business, he cannot absorb wholesale price increases.

I suspect many other small concerns will be affected in a similar way while large multi-nationals may not suffer quite so badly, at least to begin with.

And about the only person on planet Earth who would be pedantic about that is of course your good self
Well, what do you expect from an internet troll? He's almost beyond description......not quite, but almost!

The best description I can think of is one where we jumble up some everyday words and images to see if we can make a well-known phrase from them. This is a tricky one but I'm sure someone will crack it!

From the Independent
"
Brexit: First 'no-deal' technical notices to be published on Thursday, says Downing Street
More than 80 documents giving advice to citizens and businesses due to come out before end of September
"
The government is to begin publishing its Brexit technical notices, setting out the consequences of crashing out of the EU without a deal, on Thursday, the prime minister’s office has said.

The first of the explanatory documents are expected from the Department for Exiting the European Union (DExEU) within days and are designed to inform citizens and businesses how to cope with a no-deal scenario.

All 84 of the notices are due to be published before the end of September. Some are thought to be broad in scope, covering issues like financial services, company law and climate change, while others will focus on specific problems including travelling abroad with pets.

Let's consider how good the advice will be.
  1. How confident can we be that the Government comprehends the problems well enough to give good advice?
  2. What faith can we put in their ability to organise the necessary services, people, infrastucture, officaldom and staff, machinery and working computer systems that will be necessary?
  3. What chance is there that when something inevitably goes wrong, they will react not merely in a timely manner but an effective one?
Answer it is more likely to be as big a botch up as the way they have handled the Brexit affair so far.

I can reveal the best possible business advice

Move to the EU

And that is what the sensible ones will do.

On a technical note, Tom I have to make the following observation
Hopefully all normal males will have one of these , for an incomplete one would be like suffering a no deal Brexit

And while on the subject of these Government advice notices I almost missed this Porky
"“This is part of our preparatory work that has been underway for the past two years. These will be published in August and September and will be available on gov.uk in a centralised location that is easy for people to access and use.”

Are we expected to believe that?

"6 Dec 2017 - Davis accused of misleading parliament on sectoral analysis after departure from EU. ... government had not carried out “impact assessments” on how Brexit ... in October, that they were not formal “impact assessment studies”.

So much for the "last two years!"

they may have produced various reports but DD could not show them, in case the EU finds out that he was bluffing all along. When pressed, I guess he hired A-level students to cobble up his 850-page report in their usual manner (with google).

He could always get Welsh Mozzarella.
You mean Welsh dairy farmers would ignore the huge business opportunity presented if Italian imports suddenly shot up in price and would choose to keep their prices low, turning just a small profit, in the interests of consumers?

Now that's a novel idea but I can't see it taking off.:(
