No chance, by convention North is always at the top and South below as low as can be.

Which also coincides with the Unionist view of their world. ;)
.
... And as amplifed by that a JM R character in his article in the Belfast Telegraph. His knowledge of both the Irish people , their politics and the GFA is directly inversely proportional to his arrogance.

.. Diplomacy is the art of telling someone to go to hell in such a fashion that they , thank you and look forward to the trip.
Akin to the way Jean-Claude Juncker called Trump stupid without actually saying so.

On hearing of Trumps tariff anouncement he remarked that the EU would respond, adding "we can be that stupid".

He just left "too" off the end, clever, especially from someone whose native language isn't English.

From the Independent this morning, which proves that there are some Americans with a sense of Humour!
"
Donald Trump’s Nobel Peace Prize nominations ‘forged’, committee says
'As far as I know, this is the first example of someone nominating someone by stealing another person's identity', says committee secretary
"
The committee tasked with picking winners of the Nobel Peace Prize says two nominations it received for Donald Trump to be handed the honour were both forged.

Olav Njolstad, secretary of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, told the NTB news agency someone using a stolen identity had put the US President forward for the award two years in a row.

Mr Njolstad said it appeared the same person had been responsible for forging both nominations and added Norwegian police had been informed.

What a great joke!
Oh, hang on it might be a genuine request from an admirer in Russia?

EU red tape BONFIRE: Up to 50 restrictive rules to be SCRAPPED the day after Brexit
RED tape blocking house-builders and stopping apprentices being hired will be cut the day after Britain becomes fully independent from the EU in a move welcomed by Brexiteers.

Let's think aout this: those 50 "restrictive" rules went through a lengthy process before being accepted and I might add agreed to by the EU Government.

Now we have a Fascist cabal taking it upon itself to destroy those rules on their own authority?

Bring in the Clowns!

Who authorised these self elected arbiters of the "public good" to take decisions they are neither authorised, nor even worse, qualified to take a judgement on and act upon it without going through parliament?

Since when was it a good idea to cancel any rule without lengthy study to attempt to understand the consequences?

Where does their authority come from? and more to the point where does it end?

These are the very people who decried decisions made in the EU about so called "Unelected officialdom"
But they have no objection to acting in that way themselves, do they?

What EU directive has been passed into UK law stopping the hiring of apprentices may I ask?

If a newspaper has made an assertion that is factually untrue, as opposed to reporting the speech of someone else, it is libel. Now Ireland, France, and particularly Germany have no difficulty and have well regarded apprenticeship schemes, and are i understand are all within the eu, that libel should be nailed.

you can't libel the EU any more than you can libel a dead person.
That's a shame though.

The falsehood about EU regulations was published by the Express newspaper, and it clearly was a falsehood as they admitted later in the article:

And while EU rules state apprenticeships should not be affected by state aid restrictions, a lack of clarity in corresponding UK regulations has led to fund not being taken up and fewer apprentices hired.

So it's UK regulations at fault, as usual.

You have to wonder how many other UK regulations "lack Clarity" and "Restrict profit" and will be ditched without further ado..
Apparently "Disposable Laws" and "optional regulations" are the new reality after Brexit.
And you can bet that "human" and Working" rights are just as disposable.
Think of the Parliamentary time saved when we have laws decided by
"Kangaroo Committee"
This is rule by decree, countries under the heel of invaders have to suffer this, but why should we?

The sun majored on a group of Cambridge notables who claim Brexit will work out fine, their chief voice is Prof Graham Gudgeon who belongs to a group working on a "New Keynesian model of the UK economy"

All he has to do is get the dysfunctional Government we have to actually have any sorted of "joined up" policy whether it be "Keynesian" " Monetary" or more likely "Closing down sale, everything must go, no reasonable offer refused"

The Sun didn't bother to explain what a "Keynesian Economic model" actually is , as Sun readers prefer their models to have to have huge boobs rather than lots of words they don't understand attached.

And let's be quite fair this Government would never subscribe to any economic system ( even making the rather rash assumption that it understood it)that endangers a quick buck being made.

But Hey! if these Eggheads are in Favour of Brexit s'all right innit guv? and it will go down with their readership.

Good luck with your dream Professors! You have served the holy Brexit cause, had your five minutes of fame.

No doubt by now the general feeling from the Media will be "now buzz off and stop being experts" we've had enough of them.

From the Express this morning a demonstration that the paper believes it's readers to lack any trace of intelligence.
"
Brexit battle lines drawn: 'It's unacceptable!' EU warned DON'T put British lives at risk
THE European Union has been warned not to put British patients’ lives at risk as Theresa May and Labour demand continued medical co-operation after Brexit..

Who is actually leaving the EU and by that act severing these useful ties? is it the EU?
If follows therefore that they should be Warning us of the result of our actions, not us them.
Logically if we want to continue this co-operation our choices are as follows
  1. Cancel Brexit, the logical thing to do
  2. Stop making threats and ask humbly for this co-operation to continue.
Two reader's comments show how rabid people can become

From the "Sun"
Boris does it again
"
BEAUTIFUL SHAME
Boris Johnson sparks mass panic by threatening to pull England out of the Russia 2018 World Cup if Kremlin’s behind ‘spy poisoning’ (but footie fans don’t need to worry)

The Foreign Secretary said 'no attempt to take innocent life on UK soil will go either unsanctioned or unpunished' after an ex-Russian spy and his daughter were left fighting for his life last night.
In a huge gaffe, the Foreign Secretary hinted we might not even take our team to complete - but embarrassed aides were forced to quickly confirm that he didn't mean it.

Emily Thornberry offered this comment

"It really would save a lot of time and hassle if Boris preceded every Commons appearance, media interview and memo by saying: 'Please take none of this seriously until my aides have confirmed if I meant to say it.' #WorldCup

Or better still Mrs May, please ask him not to speak at all!

It's rare to find amusing readers comments in the Sun, but there are always going to be exceptions to any rule, as here
"

Boris the Bullingdon Oaf failed to mention that Russia has been supplying our depleted Gas supplies - with Tankers arriving every week. Strange how we accept it but fail to publicise it. Hypocrites.

One of the main reasons they dont publicise it is because the company our government are buying the gas from just happens to be under sanctions

As if we would! the very idea! For Shame! to even think of our Government doing such a thing! etc, etc.

The sanctions against Russia are a joke.

Firstly they have strengthened the Russian economy since they've risen to the challenge of making good the deficits themselves, reducing their unemployment. They've also hurt us since they won't return to our supplies. An example is that they'd acquired a taste for British Cheddar and become one of our larger producers most important customer. But under sanctions the Russians have started producing a wide range of cheddars which on all accounts from our correspondents are excellent, so that's our market lost for good. I don't think sanctions are supposed to work that way round.

And to show how leaky the sanctions are, there's the example of Nutella. Weirdly for a product that I find horrible it sells in 187 countries, and to produce it, ingredients from five continents are used.

The Italian company that invented it has five factories in various countries supplying those 187 consumer countries, one of the largest factories in Russia! Clearly the ingredients from five continents are flowing into Russia and the finished Nutella flowing freely out to the external markets.

I bet a relaxed Putin goes to sleep each night with a smile on his face.

It was the Kremlin that banned imports of dairy, produce, fruit, meat, poultry, fish and seafood from the U.S., European Union and several other countries

Nothing our Government sets it's heart on seems to work out, does it? and yet after decades of utter mind boggling incompetence, they still somehow get elected to power.

A mystery that passes understanding: an Enema wrapped up in an Enigma.

Over the expulsion of Diplomats, wasn't it?
Ironic that it has benefited their economy as flecc outlined, and we bust the sanctions that we were a party to imposing!

Yes, the retaliatory measures. Not exactly the outcome we intended when applying our sanctions though, and our permanent market loss.

it seems that the USP of the Conservatiive Party is home ownership.
Apparently, if you own property, you are more likely to believe in their 'responsible management of the economy in time of crisis' thus voting for them.
Hence they try to prolong the crash of 2008 and now brexit.
