Actually we already know all that, it didn't stop him abusing the system did it?

If he did he certainly wasn't first and certainly won't be last.. Is there an MP who hasn't abused system ? Which is central to the whole problem. Nobody knows who or what to believe and we think politicians are purely in politics to further their own careers / finances, ok with exception of Corbyn who does seem the only sincere politician, which at best makes his job harder and at worst makes him unelectable.( which he probably is for other reasons, eg) his stance on unilateral disarmament hardly helps..in style of OG...Does it ?

I'm not convinced that he has abused the system. Nigel Farage has made his position regarding the EU clear. People have elected him to represent their views within the EU Parliament. The message that Nigel has delivered to the EU on behalf of his voters is one of disinterest and contempt for the EU existence. The electorate have then returned Nigel to the EU Parliament again, and then again, and then again and so on.

If the electorate were unhappy or thought that Nigel Farage was corrupt or milking the system, he would not have been voted in.

However, I can sympathise with those who dislike Farage and who are envious that his stance on the EU is more popular than their own. I can also see how desirable and attractive the proposition of labeling Nigel a crook would seem to someone who is struggling with the popularity of their own views.

I think turning a blind eye to corruption to promote ones own views amounts to crossing a line, ethically, I'm quite grateful not to have crossed.

After the Richmond Park result there is a proposal that all MP's with a majority Remain vote should either vote against the triggering of Article 50 or resign.
This would be in support of the democratic wishes of their constituents.
True democracy!!!
KudosDave
Not really Dave, they have all changed their minds now...Recent poll suggests leave is gaining even more popularity.. ( I asked a few mates)

Nice try, but it's the authorities who accused him of being a crook, not merely the public, because he so obviously is.
His attendance record while drawing expenses alone is damning, as is using EU money to fund UK political electioneering.
You comment is laughable to suggest otherwise, as usual.
As old tom observed if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it generally is a duck.

Theresa May is so sick about No 10 leaks, that she is threatening calling in MI5.
Wouldn't she be better to call in a polish plumber.
KudosDave

From the Daily Mail
"
Ukip leader in 'fake CV' row over claims he holds a university doctorate in history as he vows to storm Commons by standing in a by-election
  • Paul Nuttall is accused of falsely claiming to hold a university doctorate
  • Online CV refers to ‘PhD, History’ from ‘Liverpool Hope University’ in 2004
  • LHU given university status in 2005 and did not award PhDs until 2009
  • Previously backtracked over boasts about playing professional football

Not much to complain about here, the man is obviously eminently qualified to follow in Lord Nigel's squalid footsteps.
Dregs of a Feather Club together.
I.M.H.O

Another somewhat negative point is tillson speaks highly of him

And now for something amusing for comedy fans
(From the independent)
"
Theresa May has ordered a crackdown on unauthorised leaks by ministers and civil servants with a warning that culprits will face instant dismissal if they are caught – a leaked memorandum has revealed.

Cabinet Secretary Sir Jeremy Heywood wrote to senior officials informing them the Prime Minister had demanded urgent action to tighten security in Whitehall"
.
“The Prime Minister has directed that we urgently tighten security processes and improve our response to leaks. She has instructed that we begin this work immediately and expects to see rapid and visible improvement."
"“Leaking is corrosive and undermines trust and good government. Leaks are never acceptable but the regularity and cumulative impact of recent incidents mean we must now collectively take exceptional action,” he wrote."
"Embarrassingly for No 10 however, his memorandum was leaked to The Mail on Sunday just days after being issued."

It is comforting to know that the security and future of the Nation is in such capable hands, and that Brexit is indeed Brexit (whatever that may be)
I think the slogan needs "May the Farce be with you, but don't tell anybody" appending to it.
This is like a pantomime, in this case the Audience points at Boris and shouts It's behind you! and Mrs May pretends she can't see him.
I.M.H.O etc.

You've got me all wrong, I simply represent that part of the Human Population that has a morbid wish to die Natural Deaths rather than being as depicted so colourfully by Tom Lehrer

In honour of Manuel ?
Absolutely..

Today, I wonder if the BBC would commission the making of a programme where a Spannish immigrant is ridiculed and physically abused by a pompous English employer for the audience's titillation? I suspect that many of the most vocal on here would object and call the programme racist.

The objectors, both back in the 1970s and now, lack the ability to understand that the ridicule was actually targeted at the pompous and aloof English attitude. All of the vulnerabilities and insecurities associated with this stereotypical English attitude are then exploited for comedy effect. The Spanish immigrant is actually the clever one who escapes with dignity.

The hair trigger racist accusers of today will stop any such character as Basil and Manuel from ever appearing on our screen again. It's such a shame that a handful of culturally and emotionally immature people have been listened to and unjustly been awarded such credibility.

Our problem has always been that the "natives" abroad don't quite get our sense of humour.

Hence Boris and Farage.....

Describes the situation with your usual incisive clarity.
I couldn't have put that better myself!
