Brexit, for once some facts.

Would it worry you more if you weren't? .. a puzzler
Probably yes, I feel for today's 20/30 somethings. The uncertainties of their futures are disturbing to say the least.

I was born into an uncertain period which soon lapsed into a long world war, but from then prospects were almost continuously on an upward trajectory. Job availability was always guaranteed and effort produced the realistic possibilities of a pleasant life, property ownership and a decent retirement. And our freedoms were very much greater than in today's increasingly draconian and vengeful society.

Flecc, as you know we are in limbo land over here until we get an Assembly or Direct Rule whichever comes first, and there hasn`t been an ebike sold since this `motorbike` ruling thing.
The EU is bankrupt, tens of thousands are streaming into the southern countries, UK set to leave, the EU needs revenue.
Certain UK dealers on here are bullish about the EU, if i were them i`d be careful what i`d wish for.

Turkeys and Christmas spring to mind.
.. Tommie, you have my sympathy about the shambles with ebikes.
Europe is a big place and even France alone could absorb a couple of million migrants into the semideserted villages all over rural France. I cannot speak for other countries but it's probably the same.
Bankruptcy is an interesting concept is regard to countries and continents, and is basically confidence. If there is an expectation that the country can ensure, there will be confidence

.. as someone who had reached the age of reason(don't laugh) at the time of the Cuban missile crisis and saw th iron curtain fall down, I can say with some confidence these are better times. If we , the world managed those we can manage the present.

But those were non-events which i recognised as such at the time.

The Cold War was one of the few occasions when almost all of the people were fooled all the time.

And they didn't affect our lives and prospects at home, which is what I was speaking of.

Suppose it depends if you are talking about penii in the town or penis in the word .
Or how pedantic you are feeling ?
Remember this is a Family show! some out there might think "Pedantic" refers to odd sexual behavior on an E bike, in much the same way that the Title of the Childrens Puppet Show "Muffin the mule" long ago shocked some of the prudish BBC audience, and no doubt caused many a chuckle and even accusations of unlikely frivolity to be bandied about.

I got off to a Great start in life, and worked my way down.

Dear Mother was bombed out twice while carrying me, and so I was born at the house of an Aunt of Mine, and Mother at the time was actually seriously ill with Pernicious Anaemia.

The Doctor asked Dear Aunt Phyllis (peace be onto her etc.,) which one should I save, and she famously replied

"You will save them both or you'll answer to me!"

What a woman! Ray Alan's Lord Charles puppet described her precisely as he reminisced

"Reminds me of an Ancestor of Mine
Built like a Bulldog
Hard as ship's Biscuit!
Scourge of the Spanish Main
....Magnificent Woman!

From my point of view things are very definitely better now.

May and Boris have said that they offered a generous offer to EU migrants in the UK. But I read that if a Brit married an EU person and stays for 5 years that person will be able to have British residency, but children from that marriage will not automatically be British. Maybe I have read it wrong because this government are not making things clear.
If I was the EU person in that marriage I would look to bringing the children up in the EU country and any children would have guaranteed residency and be EU citizens.
We are making ourselves a government sponsored xenophobic country, soon to be hated by the world.

.. the only logical interpretation of that is that UK officials assume that UK citizenship (actually subjecthood) is a superior status than citizenship of a block which is nearly 10 times larger... As my mother-in-law would have said "god bless their innocence" and " it's soft the wool grows on them"

Brexit: Theresa May refuses to rule out weakening of food standards in trade deal with US
No 10 will not guarantee that all regulations in place on food quality will be maintained after EU withdrawal

That means GM foods I daresay, something the EU will not accept.

Personally they don't worry me.

I saw an interesting programme on this, they also inject their cows daily to make them bigger, something banned here, I like our food standards and hope we don't do a deal that waters down those standards but May's position is weak and getting weaker with every passing day.

The Tories don't give a hoot about most people in this country yet they still get votes, is it something in the water, I only ask cos I don't drink the water from the tap anymore. Maybe it's Invasion of the Bodysnatchers!

there's a kind of poetic justice to brexiteers adopting a redneck quality of life. i fully expect a visit in five years will find a somewhat muggy version of the deep south here. GM doesn't bother me (but carcinogenic by-products of chlorine and organic compounds and the NHS as a subsidiary of ascension health do)

Now JC is coming off the fence.
Which of you agrees with his brexit politics?
