Brexit, for once some facts.

As an act of humanity and decency, the EU parliment should \could
1. Publish it's negotiating principles on the website
2 make a single party application to the ECJ to nullify the letter of intent by the previous UK prime minister. The incoming UK government, can then either object to this , and demand that the original timetable be adhered to , acquiesce and in due course send another letter , or debate the matter further in your parliment and if common sense prevails repeal the act of folly.

Everybody knows that the UK is currently incapable of commencing negotiations.
I'm afraid I have to take issue with your premise 'Danidl' for this reason: The EU need do nothing at all as it is incumbent upon the UK to attend the long-awaited discussions or negotiations if that be the proper term. The EU is not expelling the UK from the union - it was the UK's stupid, self-serving PM who set this secession process in train. Your closing comment is an irrelevance as many would contend that the UK government were never equipped for the task at any time.

Nothing has changed in terms of the leading players appointed by May and the government appears determined to carry on regardless. Therefore, I fail to see why the EU should extend a sort of act of charity towards the UK after the disgraceful way May & Co set their stall out after initiating the Article 50 procedure.

Essentially, it is business as usual so unless the PM should wish to offer the electorate another opportunity to state its preference via referendum, we'd best get on with matters as expeditiously as possible.

Given that the only apparent hope for the tories to carry their evil policies through the Commons lies with the DUP, I think it is important that the British public understands exactly who these people are and where they are positioned in the political spectrum.

A little insight can be found here:

I view the DUP as repugnant throwbacks to the past, promoting repressive social policies. They even include some creationists, showing their level of intellect.

Already on social media, some are determined that the DUP should be seen for what they are and I fear that many imagine them to be just the UUP under a different name which is far from the reality.

Has she actually negotiated an agreement with the DUP? She seemed very quick to rush off to the palace this morning. If so, what is the deal with the DUP?

Don't tell me she's announced the partnership before she has even asked what the DUP want in return! If so, they've got her over a barrel.

This woman is telling us that only she can negotiate a BREXIT deal. She redefines the word useless. Hopefully she will be gone before the end of the week.

No actual agreement, just this statement:

"The Democratic Unionist leader and most recent first minister of Northern Ireland, Arlene Foster, says she wants to “bring stability to our nation” by backing Theresa May and the Conservatives to continue in power.

Foster said in Belfast on Friday afternoon that she was entering discussions with May over the details of any arrangement that would prop up a minority government."

It just looks like another Nick Clegg style minority group grab at some power, and could also end in tears.

Ukip leader Paul Nuttall resigns following disastrous election
'I am standing down today as the leader of Ukip with immediate effect'

All together now
"What a day this has been
What a rare mood I'm in
UKIP in the Bin
And It's likely that Brexit is trashed"

Add your own chorus..:D

What amuses me is the Theresa May claims she's stable, while Arlene Foster states she's going to bring the stability by pairing with May.

Clearly Foster thinks May is wobbly at present and needs propping up. :)

At least Clegg and Cameron took a few days to reach a deal and didn't make any announcement until agreement had been achieved. This clown has announced the partnership before the deal has been struck.

All I'm hearing is the "stability" word, but May has achieved nothing but confusion, uncertainty and instability.

Being one who likes a drop of decent English beer, I was shocked on my return to England to see that Tesco have abandoned their 4 for £6.00 deal on the good quality bottled beers.

That's fine by me as Aldi and Lidl sell some of my favourites even cheaper than Tesco's deal prices so I shall abandon Tesco! At least, the profits made by the German budget supermarkets don't go straight to Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

Give us all a clue as to what you are on about, will you?
Let's hear the punch line, we all love a joke
Those of us who voted for remain had nothing whatsoever to do with creating this mess, did we?
The one who were conned into voting leave are entirely responsible, so if anyone need telling they should leave the country, you'd better direct your comments at them.
The referendum was advisory only remember?
So talk to the politicians as well.

... It is not just altruistic on my part, or about not kicking a person on the ground. Whether the Tories are deserving or not the British people are not altogether worthless and deserve a second chance. Anyway the consequences for Europe , including and particularly the UK are so important that any opportunities to re-examine the matter should be grasped before it is irreparable.
Even were the old Tory government prepared for realistic negotiations, and there is scant evidence that they were, all that is now in disarray. The EU , I believe do not want to humiliate and embarass the UK, whose citizens we would see as Europeans and colleagues, so I was suggesting a way out, an opportunity to recalibrate expectations in the light of what is a new reality.

The sense I have of England at present is of a panicking rabbit in the headlights, unable to recognise alternatives. This seemed clear to me in the TV discussions as the results were coming in.
As a matter of law , would it not be the case that you do not have a government at present and all the current ministers , including the pm are caretakers pro tem.. Is it not the first order of business for the new parliament to elect a prime minister?
The generation of a government in the circumstances can be protracted, in the case of Ireland it took 6 weeks last time, and we are more familiar with minority government.

... An Irish satirical website had this headline ...the site is the Waterford whisper we.
Tories To Make Deal With DUP After Satan Pulls Out
BRITISH PM THERESA May is set to confirm to the Queen that she has struck a deal with Northern Ireland’s DUP party, following the sad news Satan pulled his support for the Conservatives after having ‘second thoughts’, WWN can confirm.

It is believed May, driven by a strong and stable desire to cling to power in an act of naked self-preservation, no matter the consequences for the British public, struck a deal with a party known for its misogynist and bigoted views.

“Don’t forget they hate science and seem happy enough not to condemn terror groups like the UDA/UVF,” Satan explained to WWN, speaking exclusively from the fiery pits of hell.

“Look, we all have to draw the line somewhere, I was looking forward to helping Theresa carve out the worst possible vision for Britain with policies that would punish the most vulnerable in society, but **** me, have you seen the DUP? That was my call to exit stage left,” added the fallen angel.

Hailed as a triumphant political masterstroke by leading Tory idiots; enlisting the help of the DUP party, made up of level headed politicians with a similar number of ongoing scandals and corruption allegations as the Tories, is seen as great start to moving Britain forward.

“We had considerable bother finding the ruddy place on the map, but turns out it’s just left up by Scotland and across the sea,” confirmed a Tory spokesperson, outlining the location of Northern Ireland.

“Having a bunch of lunatics constantly threatening to the pull the plug on this government as we negotiate with the EU, I can’t think of a better way to govern, can you?” added the spokesperson.

The first part of the proposed deal between the two parties will see the DUP receive a shipment of over 300,000 miniature Union Jack flags.

.... Let me be very bold here... The pact with the DUP and Tories only works because SF and it's predecessor have a policy since 1919 of abstaining from taking their seats in Westminster. They have now no difficulty in taking their seats in the Irish Dail , once also subject to the same policy. or the NI assembly.. the latter having been set up by act of Westminster
A core principle of SF is to have a referendum or border poll , for the purposes of a united Ireland... (Mind you the country has always been united, it's just the people who are divided. .)
Were they to agree to take their seats in exchange for a border poll, there would be no ill feeling from their constituents, rather they would welcome it. ..

Interesting times
