If le Pen,gets in in France and Frexit, there may be no EU to leave.
KudosDave
it's possible but unlikely. I reckon that Fillon is already cooked (like the French would say, c'est cuit, Fillon), it will be a straight fight between Macron and Le Pen in the second round.

The EU can offer it, using article 49, and they want us to remain. As mentioned above, the Conservative MPs could dump Theresa May and her restrictions with her.
.
Agreed UK could make application under article 49 and this would require another EU treaty and a referendum in a few different countries, Ireland being one. I know that I would be voting in favour of UK membership, but referenda can produce unexpected results.
Also there would be no guarantees that the future conditions for what would be a new UK application would be as favourable as those at present. The Euro would likely be tabled.

I think there's a real chance that we could remain. All the EU countries want us to remain in. I can easily envisage a scenario where the exit terms are made very harsh and unattractive, but accompanied by tempting promises and some actual changes to suit us if we remain.

That could make it attractive for Conservative MPs to vote against the exit deal on offer and dump the expendable Theresa May.
.
I agree and see this as a very likely outcome. It could be easily sold as a good compromise deal and shift the leave / remain balance firmly over towards remaining within the EU.

Between 2009 and the start of 2015, the Pound was never worth more than 1.30 Euros, spending most of the time just below 1.20 Euros.

Then came the Greek debt crisis and the second bail out during 2015. The value of the Euro took a hit and the Pound peaked at 1.40 Euros.

Next we had the BREXIT vote in 2016 and today we see the Euro back to 2009 - 2015 levels.

I do not dispute that the differential in the value of the Pound against the Euro since 2015 has not had some impact, but you are exaggerating. You have carefully selected a Euro value that was artificially high for your illustration and you quoting this news with peevish relish and with an air of, "look what you fools voted for." What you are up to is very transparent and it fools no one.

I don't care if you have put up the price of a KTM Macina Sport CX5+ by 19%. Put it up 50% if you like. Many people will be buying them with money they haven't got anyway, so if you put them off making an unwise purchase, you might have done them a big favour.

There is going to be a heft price to pay for all of the consumer borrowing and the pain is coming. I am pleased to see that you taking a stance against it by putting people off KTM products.
I've given cold hard facts... the direct comparison between the 2 prices... and I've said we've halved our margin. There is nothing in my statement that is either opinion or exaggerated.

The fact you're still fighting against facts, is rather worrying.

Is there anything anyone could say that would make you think this is a bad idea. Or are you of the belief this is a good idea no matter what?

I'd be interested to know were your red line is?

I don't know why you find it necessary to use the word xenophobe in the same sentence as UKIP, perhaps it's because you are a fool? Anyway, that aside, Lincolnshire has a very high population of immigrants and UKIP are currently the second most popular party in British politics in some areas of that county.

These Lincolnshire people aren't xenophobes, they have no dislike or hatred of foreign people, they are simply concerned that the population in their towns and villages is growing in an uncontrolled manner. The infrastructure and services have not kept pace. This is not the fault of the foreign nationals who have moved there, they are simply hard working and industrious people doing what they are allowed to do under EU rules. No one blames them, they blame the EU's free movement of people principle and what they perceive as no plan or investment to match the population rise. That is what they are angry about and have no malice with foreign nationals. Schools are overwhelmed and this inevitably affects the quality of the education children receive in these areas. The same principle applies to other services, the more people using a service without the appropriate investment results in a quality reduction.

It is right that people affected by an increase in population in their local area can speak of their concerns without being labled a xenophobe by an ignorant idiot such as you. It is the poorly informed statements and the ignorance which is on display from you that makes people believe their concerns are not being listened to. People need to be engaged with, encouraged to share their concerns and offered explanations or solutions. The last thing that they need is a jumped up idiot bicycle man with his head up his backside insulting them.

This post is a well considered arguement, respectful of the population of that county, both native and immigrant, spoilt only by an irreverent and ill-considered last sentence, and the inclusion of the word Fool in the first.
In this post you refer to lack of planning for infrastructure resources,. Is that not the responsibility of the competent local authority?

I take a holistic view and pay little regard to figures which have been carefully chosen to the exclusion other data in order to present a particular narrative. Or especially for you, Like what you are doin'

I firmly believe that we are on the correct course with BREXIT and ultimately that course will lead to either better terms of EU membership or with the UK out of the EU altogether.

Lincolnshire on average has 10% immigrants
Boston is higher at 15%
From a Guardian article
"

It's hard to resist the obvious conclusion that the change is resisted out of a wish that change can simply be avoided and not accepted.
So say the remainers

I picked 2 dates that I was asked about, which is the dates the 2016 and 2017 prices were printed. I didn't choose the dates.

if you want me to look at other dates, then I can do, but I can assure you I didn't present anything to support a narrative.

The great KTM price cuts of 2015 when the Pound was riding high against the Euro seems to have slipped from my memory.

Not according to Lord Kerr, the man who designed Article 50,he has said it is reversible.....Google him,its easy to find.
KudosDave
...Then he did not design it carefully enough ....read the text.

Very simply ..... once the letter of intent reaches the council of ministers, the die is cast and the UK loses control. They may negotiate terms which if acceptable to the EU negotiating team are then tabled for the EU parliament, but there is nothing in article 50 about the departing state recalling their letter of intent. It needs unanimous support of the member states to alter conditions aka article 49.
I say these things as someone who does not want the UK to leave our community of nations.

What do you want me to compare the 2015 price too? Because I think you'll find in 2015 the bikes (and not just KTM) were about as good as they've got in terms of value for money in the 20 odd years I've got working in the bike industry. Certainly 2013-15 was a pretty strong point for value for money.

If we let it fester and don't call it out and show that these opinions are out there, they aren't going to go away. We have to show that this is the view of a number of people in this country and we have to acknowledge it. If its underground, its more dangerous and people like poor Jo Cox are the ones that suffer.

These dangerous people exist and I'm afraid in pretty much all cases they voted for Brexit, which damages the case of people who are pro Brexit who might have very good reasons (not that I've heard one yet!)
Those opinions have always been there. Nothing to do with Brexit. Although those that wish to remain are quite happy to resort to name calling and stereotyping. Is that all the remainers or just a few extremists??

Why would they want us to stay when they are threatening all sorts of nasty things to us as if we have done some thing really terrible. We must have something they need. Maybe it's the billions of pounds every year?? Who knows
