Holy shit! It's a good thing you weren't doing a bit of night hedge trimming, or burying bodies or something.
Happened yesterday morning - daylight. Around 11:00. The fence was brand new a few months ago (this year). The wall was properly constructed and in good condition. Just to the right is a brick garage. Just to the left is next-door's house. My drive bends to the left and my car was (as always) parked towards the house end. But if any of those had not been the case, it could have been massively worse.

Also, it rolled backwards which would likely have kept it fairly straight. Rolling forwards it would almost certainly have turned and been worse.

You could have been eating bara brith by the tree. Was it brake failed or brake forgotten (when drunk?)? I bloody well hope they're insured and/or they pay out.

You are mixing popularity up with effectiveness /broken.
Anyone who thinks Labour isnt boken hasn't really been watching or listening to what they have to say or who is saying it.
Please explain their stance on any important issue. (take defence). Under Corbyn defence manifesto was an utter joke. ("I will finance Trident replacement but will never ever give order to use it or any other nuclear weapon"),
Does anyone actually know Statmer's stance on this, the economy, employment, Ofcourse not. He never states anything. Labour are stuck on the fence on every possible issue, just poke headed up and shout "we disagree". The entire lot of them, Labour, Tory and Lib Dem are beyond useless. If they were in industry, they, d all be sacked. Gross incompetence. The lot of them.
I certainly can't see any difference in any of their policies anymore. Fair point we could with Truss and Coathanger. How is Labour not broken, when it's only possible way into power is if Tories utterly implode. Then what will Starmer do, a bit of this, a bit of that and promote sex change ops for those wanting one.
Under PM Starmer or Sunak, when interest rate is high, those who buy treasury bonds call the shots. Put yourself in the shoes of someone who offer up a 30 year fixed rate loan to our government.
Truss and Kwarteng wanted to bypass the BoE and the OBR. See how well that did.
the economic constraints are same for the next govermnent and also likely the one after that. Even under Corbyn, the difference in spending plans was only 6% of GDP. You tried to read too much into what politicians can do other than major screwups.
The only notable difference in policies is Labour wants to spend £8bn a year on investing in renewables (google Great British Energy firm). I think it's a good idea, they should sell bonds directly to the public to fund it.

It is a manual car with a push-button parking brake.

Impossible to be sure. The gear shift looked to be in neutral. But there didn't appear to be any visible indication of brake status. (Bound to be when ignition is on, but when I saw, it was off.)

I didn't see, but apparently the chap raced down trying to jump back in. Therefore I suspect he had got out with it not applied, then it started rolling. One of the things I have always liked about autos is the way they lock the transmission.

For Wales, that's just stupid!

I bet he was drunk, or forgot.
I *think* he is one of those people who sit in their car having a phone chat. Might have been doing that when he got out without checking the brake.

But, obviously, it also needed to be out of gear. (I can't see him having it in reverse gear and getting out/dropping the clutch all in one go.)

My car has auto handbrake. Few weeks ago, in a rush, pushed engine stop button, and started to jump out car. Usually, engine would stop, gear go to park and hand brake apply automatically... Normally.... I hadn't pushed engine stop button hard enough, engine had stopped but because of stop /start con... Car was rolling backwards, with me half in, half out.. Managed to jump back in and apply brake manually.. Nearly an embarrassing moment tho. Suspect all auto systems can be over ridden with a decent supply of stupidity and perseverance.
I wasn't impressed tho. Hand brake should apply (automatically) if drivers seat is vacated.

So, 'tis Sunak.
FTSE goes up, gilt yield down. Relief is all round.
The best proof that people want to invest in this country is the stock market.
Time to get rid of Moggy.

Is BJ is being held back to be allowed to stand (as Party leader) for next GE...??? I suspect so. He might not be built like a cat but politically he still has at least 6 lives left.

He certainly can. There are plenty in the Conservative party who think Sunak isn't British. He may not win though. Brexit isn't going well.

The immediate question is, will Sunak give him a job?

I'd give Johnson Northern Ireland Secretary, the shambles meeting the chaotic,

Neither make sense to us, but they might make sense to each other.

1922 won't forget Boris got an 80 plus seat majority. In final analysis there isn't much to lose. As they stand Tories are out (sort of) next GE...

She's strange - I complained about her for saying "I can't wait to visit!" after a piece about a place being destroyed by tourism. Quite a gleeful delivery then too.
