...which reminds me, I must get back to tuning my new guitar. There's never any time during the day. Ever the optimist, I do it by ear, then check using a tuner to see how close I got.

Probably not as much as the fast food culture and sugar-heavy drinks by the gallon.

(By no means a paragon of healthy eating, I sometimes simply think about how much extra sugar I would have consumed had I not quit sugar in tea and coffee over forty years ago.)

But the government repeatedly deny NHS overwhelmed. Indeed, any overwhelming is all in their heads.

Adding:

Previously, Johnson has said he would bring in further restrictions if there was a risk of the NHS becoming overwhelmed. However, the prime minister accepted it may already be happening in some areas when asked for a definition of this, given many medical staff feel that situation has already been reached.
“The NHS is under huge pressure,” he told a Downing Street press conference. “I won’t provide a definition of what being overwhelmed would constitute because I think that different trusts and different places, at different moments, will feel at least temporarily overwhelmed.

No, not really overwhelmed, they just feel overwhelmed. There are some members who might suggest there is a parallel with patients being told it is all in their heads when they are suffering an organic disease.

Some ideas:

Could microclots help explain the mystery of long Covid?
Resia Pretorius

My lab has found significant microclot formation in long Covid patients. Unfortunately, these are missed in routine blood tests

Your three postings in a row illustrates to me the huge difficulty in popularising cutting edge research. What anyone might reasonably take from these are the following.
1. Omnicron is not dangerous, 2.taking a booster vaccine is a waste of time. 3.Omnicron attacks and kills off Delta .
None of these statements are known truths.

It is Possibly the case that Omicron doesn't seriously affect previously infected or fully vaccinated people. But bluntly it has not been in our countries long enough to affect death rates. Moreover by increasing the pressure on hospital staff, it will be have a knockon effect on what might have been trivial medical complaints escalating to emergency status by delays.
The rate of Delta might be slightly suppressed , if only because an Omicron stops that person circulating for a few days. Again there is no evidence that it will provide any future immunity to Delta.
And whether treble jabs protect ..well myself and my wife are involuntary test cases ,As we have a Probably Omicron active case in the house.
