How can Hammond be happy to lose all the tax revenue from the banks that will move operations and staff out of the city of London. Also many immigrants were hard working people who paid tax,we are going to lose tax and growth when Brexit starts to bite.
Still Theresa tells us we are going to make a success of it and we are all united now, hehe
Mind you I like the idea of free trade with China and 10% corporation tax, hehe
KudosDave

Trex was a little antagonistic, been told off by Hatti. Consequently, he's closed his account.
The Woosh account is usually used by tony@wooshbikes.co.uk. Hatti and Andy@woosbikes.co.uk also post now and then.
Tony looks after the Woosh website.

(This post is made by Tony)
Who is Hatti ? And cant be true, if folk got in bother for being "antagonistic" there,d be no fecker left on here..
i did notice a very marked softening in Trex's attitudes, I put it down to him seeing sense and supporting leave.

Notice with interest how all comments around banks are for those moving some of their business , not much talk of Santander, they,ll be in a precarious position post Brexit.

OG..
Have you ever said anything positive ...about anything...come on give it a try...I know its difficult living in Hull. Its not that bad, you,ve got Beverley and Fort Paul nearby...
You,ve got Prescott, the super diplomat sat up in the lords..he looks after Hull...at expense of rest of coast mind..Every cloud and that...

You really should stick to taking that daily sensible pill, yesterday there were the first signs of it working, but today you've suffered a setback.

After all you came on here with no other thought in mind (admittedly due to lack of space) than to be antagonistic.

trex is not staff. I believe we reflected the national average, 3 voted in, 3 voted out.
All of us want the best outcome.
Personally, I'd like one step short of FOM and one step short of single market. I would be content if we go for customs union.

That makes two of us ...but I do try to be positive...

Wonder what state we would be in if May hadnt stepped into breach ??? She,s doing best job she can under terrible duress from many parts of public, that fool Corbyn and even some of her own ministers, even the ones in theory on same page..all in all she,s doing a fantastic job. Criticizing her actions is ludicrous.Exactly what do you expect her to say ??? Tell EU now what lowest offer we,d be willing to accept ? Thats like telling somebody lowest figure you,d accept for a second hand car before you`ve even met buyer. If you disclose that early on buyer will just go under it and if any sense by some margin .
Have you ever sold a car or house OG...you start high, play cards close to chest and NEGOTIATE. People expecting her to disclose anything to anyone at this stage is an idiot..which I didnt think you were . but I`ll stand corrected on last point. Go on then prove me wrong, prove you are an idiot.

The man, OG, appears to be totally clueless of how the negotiation process works or how to conduct business. He criticises the government for not laying bare it's negotiating hand, whilst simultaneously riddiculing every perceived weakness in the UK's bargaining position.

If the government were to disclose their entire negotiation strategy, he would then be criticising them for showing naivety in business and predicting that The EU would use that knowledge against us.

The simple truth is that some people are so bitter and twisted over the referendum result that they will never ever conceded the slightest prospect of a positive outcome. Whatever the government do will be wrong and OG will know better.

Very Funny, so the way to get the deal you want is to tell them you will walk away with empty pockets to spite them if you don't get your own way?
Ha, ha, ha, ha.
"He criticises the government for not laying bare it's negotiating hand, whilst simultaneously riddiculing every perceived weakness in the UK's bargaining position."

For not laying bare her negotiating plan?
SHE DID AND THAT WAS IT FOR CRYING OUT LOUD

Groucho had some advice for people like you.

That approach will never work
"A five year old could understand that,
Somebody send for a Five Year old!"

Or perhaps call tillson in to balls up the job?

And yes, I do know better, the whole Brexi idea is as mad as a hatter

In fact since my funeral is already paid for, I shall do my very best to last long enough to have the last laugh over it.
Article 50 now! Brexit is Brexit! etc, etc.
The goodness will flow:D:D:D

Ps; The bitter and twisted ones are in fact the ones who voted FOR Brexit, remember? they were the ones who were unhappy, not the ones who voted for Remain.

Keep it up we do need comedy to keep the thread going.
Do you write this stuff all on your own? it's really hilarious!
"all in all she,s doing a fantastic job. Criticizing her actions is ludicrous.Exactly what do you expect her to say ??? Tell EU now what lowest offer we,d be willing to accept ? "

She just did, if you don't give me what I want we will walk away with empty pockets?
If i was an EU negotiator, I would simply say
"Close the door on your way out"
Are you really unable to see the obvious?
I will give you a clue on negotiating for those lacking social skills.
  1. Introduce yourself politely
  2. seek to find common ground to find out the mood of the opposition
  3. listen to their comments and ask what they propose to assess what can be achieved in what order without stalling the talks
  4. Then and only then introduce the lesser points where agreement is possible
  5. Moving on from that up the stakes, at no time mentioning "red lines" that will stall the discussion, but move on to the main thrust of the negotiation.
  6. Give the opposition time to chew over the proposals with their own people.
  7. At no time use threats, use subtlety and guile to get your own way
  8. Even if an impasse is reached do not ever stamp out of the meeting in a tantrum
  9. Ensure that whatever happens the nature of the talks is not hostile otherwise you are damaging your own future negotiating position.
Golden rules of Negotiation go in there with a clear objective and NEVER use threats, or say you will walk away, even if the other side does

Only an Imbecile does that, and one, or rather several, on our side have made that mistake already.
As I pointed out earlier my career was largely in dealing with customer complaints and frankly your lack of understanding of how to negotiate a successful agreement is no better than tillson's though in his case I suspect that half the time he is suggesting courses of action he would never take himself

Well I had just heard the Diagnosis of Prostate Cancer at the time tillson my friend, what would you have done to protect your family?
I'm sincerely sorry to hear that. I hope it's slow to progress / controllable.

My father in law was diagnosed with it in his early 70s and died in his mid 90s of something unrelated to the cancer. I think it's one of the few things where age is actually on our side.

All the best.

thank you my friend, I am free of it for the moment and hopefully that will continue until something else takes me by surprise, but it does change your attitude to the future, believe me!
I was 64 at the time and after a lengthy Hormone and Radiotherapy treatment, I am now 72, and as you know still annoying as hell! (just kidding)

Saw this on the BBC website
""I want to negotiate a free trade agreement with the European Union which will give us the maximum access, the right deal for Britain, maximum access to the single European market for trading with and operating within that market for both goods and services," she said.

Didn't her last speech just indicate the opposite?

But they've said no to that combination.

And Mrs Brexit-means-Brexit will learn that No means No.

I vote in the interest of getting this over with Quickly (and gain a few laughs) we should send Nigel Farage to do the Negotiating (AKA lies threats and insults)
That should move things along at a cracking pace.

We can always get the RNLI to pick him up when he lands in the sea mid channel, or perhaps not bother to?

Same result of course, but there's no way of getting round that with the talent at our disposal.

And appoint who in her place ?
Anyhow good luck OG. Seriously. Take care.
I propose a race; make sure all the Tory politicians are present, fire a starting pistol and the last out of the exit gets the job.

That way we can be sure they are not doing it as some form of Power Mad Mania, and really will try hard to do a good job, fearing for their lives if they fail.

Works for me, and very Darwinian too, survival of the quickest.
The Downside is it will probably be Rees Mogg gets the job since he is pretty much a Turkey among Vultures, and lacks their turn of speed, or perhaps even Boris, who has the pheasant like penchant for changing his mind after running half way across a busy road, and having changed direction, changes his mind again.

But it won't matter, Talent is equally distributed among the Tory party, by being notably absent in every case.

And good luck to you too!

Not sure its any help OG, wife was diagnosed with cervical cancer 8 years ago. She got all clear 18 months ago...Times have changed...

On the May issue...
I actually like your action plan for negotiation, its actually good...but negotiations haven't started yet...She addressed the world expressing her desires in an idealistic way..agreed..last thing she should have done is give away what she actually wants and country needs. Threatening to walk away in her speech is not same as saying same to her antagonists during talks. We all know how politicians work, different faces for different audiences..except Boris...(and Trump?)
BTW..you skirted around question..who would, could replace her ANYWHERE...Imagine Clegg or Corbyn walking into talks...???

Take care.
