I sometimes forget this when we have a punch-up on here. It’s easy to forget that people have all sorts of personal issues to deal with away from a forum they occasionally drop into to vent their feelings.

You‘re an irritating bastard at times, but your wife is lucky to have a seemingly strong character like you by her side.
"Daft Lad " is a more accurate description.
And this must be about the only place on the net where being referring to as "an irritating bastard at times" is highly complementary

Thanks old friend, love you too!;)

I posted on another forum yesterday about the side effects I had (just a sore arm) to the vaccine and the nasty ones my sister had and wondered if it was because women seem to have stronger immune systems than men and so when being vaccinated they get a much stronger reaction than a lot of men will.

Someone came up with another possible explanation which seemed on the surface to be highly plausible. He said everyone gets the same quantity of vaccine but men are often much bigger than women. In the case of my sister and I, she weighs less than 9 stone and I am just under 14, and yet we both get exactly the same amount of vaccine, that seems a little strange.

Perhaps when it comes to vaccines it does not matter what size you are, everyone just gets the same dose but it does seem weird that someone who is over 50% heavier than someone else gets the same amount.

Just had a chat with my Italian relatives, both mid 60s. They have absolutely no idea when they are likely to receive their Coronavirus vaccination.

The vaccination situation with the EU is a total clusterfuck. They are months behind the U.K.

Yes. .. There is only a limited amount of the stuff available. Remember that the EU is Twice the size of the USA, and 8 times the size of the UK, and 40 times the size of Israel. An equal distribution of product would have the UK what percentage?.

But somewhere they (one idiot, untrained-on-the-vaccine doctor) over-dosed people - I think it was four doses delivered in one shot.

The upshot seemed to be the sacking fo the doctor and nothing untoward regarding the patients. I think it was Australia and Pfizer/BioNTech.

Personally, I think it’s bollicks. This is a global emergency, we need to get our sleeves rolled up. Dilly-dallying around will create a situation like the one we are seeing in the EU.
And even worse there will be one or two more of them surviving eh?
Ah well the company will be protected by our infinite wisdom of waiving their liability.
Tory voters can rest assured
No Spaffing of public funds was spared and no Corporate profit was harmed during the vaccine rollout

The company isn’t making any profit from the vaccine. If the vaccine was a highly lucrative product, it would be reasonable to expect them to carry the financial liability risks. I can see a case for the government underwriting the risk in this not for profit arrangement.

Any country that doesn’t want to use the vaccine and which subscribes to the nonsense should give up their AZ vaccine supply and allow it to be used elsewhere.

I love the way you avoid unpleasant facts

AstraZeneca vaccine document shows limit of no-profit pledge Company has right under contract to declare pandemic over by July 2021

And of course there was the huge sums of money upfront before the vaccine even existed too.

And what a good way to sink excess profits from other products to gain a tax advantage and huge free advertising?

But that’s all speculation. The vaccine is currently a not for profit product and AZ have not used their option to declare the pandemic over.

As I’ve said, if anyone is put off or unwilling to use the AZ vaccine, they should give it to a nation that will use it

They would be mad to do that before they had confirmation the vaccine wasn't safe to use and lose it!
