Wonder if it would work on here...
Woosh
Be careful that's almost support for Brexit...( from your economist friend)

I,m currently travelling through France...whats happened...they have been friendly in restaurants, helpful and polite in supermarket and even car hire bloke was pleasant...( didn't try and charge cleaning penalty, car cost exactly as advertised, which is a first in France) something is wrong...has Napolean escaped from Elba again...planning an invasion fleet as we speak...
Completely different to 2 months,ago...

On the Umberto Eco messiah claim...rather ironic he,s held up as champion of remainers spouting off on forums continually...when actually his biggest bug bear was social media and globalisation...but then again irony does take some understanding for some..

Having had my moan I have noticed a slight change in the rhetoric..its not quite as negative towards brexit and a bit less insulting towards leavers. So well done. Keep it up another 8000 posts and we might see another positive comment for brexit from a remainer. ( I know I,m exaggerating ,we,ve actually already had 2...)
And whilst I,m at it..wouldnt you remainers be better telling his Tonyness to feck off, he really is damaging what little credibility you remainers have...Strange old world a war criminal donating £10kk to remain...I wonder where he got that from ??? I bet Tom and OG really have got their knickers in a twist over Blair championing remain. You could not write it.
Take care. A ferry to catch...

Ok..ok ..ok..(In Joe Pesci voice)
3 positive comments from remainers about brexit. The fat tw4t closing his restaurants is the third.Best news I,ve had for a while. Thanks Tom.

Danid.. Obviously not...
Aah Zlantan, good to see you back, now perhaps you will respond to the question I have on two previous posting asked of you...... This is my third and will be the final time I will bother . See my previous posting...

Some going on my rare cooked rib eye steak in half an hour.:)

Now,seriously a comment as a remainer.
The time for retribution has gone ,we now must ALL work together to make it happen in a productive way.
Sorry about the capitals.

Lister,I assume when you say 'make it happen' you are referring to the scrapping of Brexit,I cannot think of anything more productive. So many are currently working together and doing a good job in making life difficult for Theresa May and Co.,this is daily making Brexit look more undesirable and unlikely. To be honest we don't have to work too hard Theresa May is making a mess of it without our assistance.
Can you really foresee that this useless government is going to persuade all 27 EU countries into a deal, remember they only need one veto to scupper the lot.
Theresa May is going to give us a speech later this month to tell us all what Brexit really means....she needs to dream up some new rhetoric ,am fed up with 'Brexit means Brexit','Going to get the best possible deal',Not giving a running commentary' and Keeping our cards close to our chest'.
The dilemma is when May is forced to resign who will replace her,how about Boris, hehe????

I know what you mean. I can't think of a good analogy but as an Arsenal fan, I think that if the gunners were to suffer relegation to the Championship while Spurs get to play in one of the European competitions each season, playing against the best teams in the world, earning loads of money, that would come pretty close to 'Brexit' for me.

It's horrible, for me and vampires alike.
I'll have to introduce you to my mother who is still trying to figure how she gave birth to a garlic eater.

It has enabled me to keep the vampires at bay

Humour of the Day from the Daily Mail
"Theresa May's blitz on our daily struggles: PM pledges to tackle 'everyday injustices' as she promises the return of pre-fabs to boost new homes"

The joys of Brexit! we are going back to the early post war years!
I am one of a generation who lived in Hull during and after the second world war and spent some years living in a "Prefab"

I was like a furnace in summer and a draughty refrigerator in winter.

Brexit: Taking back control......to 1945

Surely there must be lots of second world war POW camps and those for illegal Aliens that could be pressed into service? handy to have barbed wire fences and searchlight towers with armed guards to keep the lower orders under control.... (just Kidding I hope)

From 'Brexit' to garlic, (which I love), then on to salt......well, salt and ice to be precise.

Perhaps I have led a sheltered life but one of the political blogs I read has a warning on today's page which should be very worrying for parents of school-age children. I can't remember this being a regular schoolboy jape, or a girly one come to that, when I was at school but check it out:

Actually prefabs have moved along a bit since WW2.

But I guess to save money the wicked witch of the north will be using the plans from the archives. They probably still have some building stock left too - doors that don't close, windows that don't insulate...

Will you be buying the wood from the Finns? Or cutting down the New Forest?

Wood? who build prefabs with wood? ours was made of poured concrete and pebble filled slabs bolted together, about two inches thick.
To meet the shortage and bring the cost of housing down, a new form of construction was pioneered, commonly called ‘PRC’ (Pre-cast Reinforced Concrete).
They were erected on a concrete slab, and held together with steel frames, single glazed windows in steel frames too,
No insulation, Damp, leaky draughty.

We had a mobile office made from a shipping container, it was awful.
Much to hot in summer despite the insulation and opening windows and not much fun in winter.

I can only hope it's a general description not an actual steel box with holes cut in it.

The fascist Prime Minister and her government dogmatically dragging the British people towards the cliff edge of political and economic isolation is the very same fascist group whose policies have already adversely affected ordinary people.

How much does it take to get tory voters to understand the cruelty that their representatives enact in their name on common people? Those old enough will recognise many similarities with Nazi Germany in the 1930s and 1940s.

This piece of news should really be a wake-up call for all those who believe that this government is looking after the interests of ordinary people:

This wouldn't have been around when we were young Tom.

The knowledge arrived much more recently with ice cream makers that use a mix of ice cubes from one's freezer together with salt to drop the temperature low enough to freeze an ice cream mix. These have two metal bowls, one within the other, the ice cream mix in the inner bowl, the ice-salt mix in the gap between the bowls.

How old are you Flecc?
A frozen mixture of milk and rice was used in China around 200 BC.[6] "They poured a mixture of snow and saltpetre over the exteriors of containers filled with syrup, for, in the same way as salt raises the boiling point of water, it lowers the freezing point to below zero.

They've often been first with many things, but I'm sure today's kids will have picked up on the ice and salt potential from their ice cream makers. Those weren't around when I was young, people didn't even have fridges, let alone freezers to make ice!
