Brexit, for once some facts.

Hancock would if he could. He's so typical of the squirts we saw strutting around in jackboots and high topped peaked caps durimg WW2, evidenced by the obvious pleasure he had in spelling out restrictions and hefty fines for non compliance with covid rules. He was in his element then.
.
I see your point but don't you think some newsreaders seem to revel in bad news. Huw Edwards seems to come alive announcing number of deaths and that idiot Preston with his deliberate slow speech is a complete idiot. The media throughout this has been appalling, TV showing similar levels of bias to newspapers.
Newsreaders seem to think they are investigative journalists and not there to simply put over information. They think they are there to question and put their own narrative on everything.
Jeremy Vine has certainly not helped either. I have to turn that off. He, s more opinionated than talks port, only thing is they know and accept they are. He thinks he isn't. Seems we pay BBC license for them to transmit propoganda... Its terrible.

Peston, dear boy.

I do believe his somewhat odd vocal patterns are how he now overcomes his stutter - which used to be terrible. Deliberate, yes, but for a pretty sensible reason.
Apologies to him if that's the case for his style of speech... He, s done well considering... But his content and line of approach is always either egotistical, obvious, simplistic or a combination of all three..
You, ve probably gathered I, m not well impressed with most of media..They have attacked government on so many issues to point where a genuine aspect arises its seems just more of same.

Its not jingoism.. Its celebrating good news and a great achievement. Those involved deserve praise and our thanks. Yes, the deaths are terrible which only makes today's news more celebratory.
Imagine where we would be if AZ/Oxford vaccine had failed Mhra scrutiny or had not provided immunity. Yep, early days but anything giving us something to counter what has probably been the world's hardest test must be applauded.
Will be interesting to see which vaccine is rolled out in global fight... From what I, ve read its the AZ one leading the way.
Don't be a pain Danidl.
As I said, belay the jingoism ... the Jenner Lab Oxford is directed by a dubliner , and with key staff in this SAR2 Vaccine being Irish . But certainly the entire Not for Profit ethos of the Jenner is extremely praiseworthy.

My theory is that a stutter is where the brain is thinking to fast for the mouth to follow. . I knew a lad once when we were both 18, and he had the worst stutter I had ever heard...and I had known a few. he let it be known that he wanted to study law and expected to be a barrister . I came across him a few times in University ... it did not tend to mix with the law types , and his stutter was still extremely bad. But a few years later, he was highly successful, very high profile, on TV etc and eventually a Supreme court Judge. ...and never a stutter.... I just think that with age, his brain slowed down that little

the deal is now ready for royal ascent which should be just a formality.
This deal is hard brexit, no doubt about it.
Although 10% more Britons think that brexit was a mistake, the hard brexiters have got their way. No tory MP opposed it, one Labour MP did.
Only Libdems, Scottish and Northern Irish MPs opposed this deal.
I would have preferred that the UK joined EFTA and remained in the single market then review the situation a few years down the line.
BJ has pushed NI and Scotland toward independence and rejoining the EU.

Tomorrow we begin the new Year with a disunited Kingdom, Nationalist Tory Party , and now to cap it all a National Socialist Party pretending to be an opposition, but only representing the same voters.

What could possibly go wrong?

Last night I glimpsed a program in which a teacher had helped a pupil to overcome a stutter - by playing music through headphones. Seems the teacher was inspired by The King's Speech.

The boy was then shown making a brief speech to the school assembly - with hardly a dry eye because everyone understood how much it meant.

It's significant that so many members of both major parties are on these list and have accepted donations from Israel
https://powerbase.info/index.php/Conservative_Friends_of_Israel
and also
https://powerbase.info/index.php/Labour_Friends_of_Israel

What happened to the nature of sovereignty when these politicians owe allegiance to any other country?

And no doubt there are other countries exerting influence on them too. Long overdue to put a stop to outside interference much worse than that from the EU

I'm in the very tough on donations front. Beyond the obvious of accepting a cup of tea (or other trivial hospitality), they should not take anything.

Merely having to declare benefits has been shown not to be sufficient.
