Spain and UK reach draft deal on post-Brexit status of Gibraltar
British overseas territory had been left out of deal announced on Christmas Eve

Negotiators from the United Kingdom and Spain have reached a draft deal on the post-Brexit future of Gibraltar.

“Today is a day for hope,” Spain’s foreign minister, Arancha González Laya, said on Thursday. “In the long history of our relations with the UK, related to Gibraltar, today we’re facing an inflexion point.”

As part of the agreement, the British Overseas Territory located on the southern tip of the Iberian peninsula would be able to join European Union programmes and policies such as Schengen, González Laya told reporters.

Can't we just banish Covid-19 from the kingdom? Isn't that what sovereignty means!

UK surpasses 73,000 deaths

The UK government said a further 964 people have died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Thursday, bringing the UK total to 73,512.
Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies for deaths where Covid-19 has been mentioned on the death certificate, together with additional data on deaths that have occurred in recent days, show there have now been 89,000 deaths involving Covid-19 in the UK.
The government said that, as of 9am on Thursday, there had been a further 55,892 lab-confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK.
It brings the total number of cases in the UK to 2,488,780.

I wonder if any research has been carried out on how the virus is affected by Colombian marching powder, maybe Gove knows.
You deserve some form of award. Coming up with a question where the answer is (or could be) "Gove knows!" It is bloody difficult. :)

Looks like gov has made problems supplying / organising 2nd jab issues into a whole new new policy. Making it up as they go along.

"They said they recognised that rescheduling second appointments was "operationally very difficult" and would "distress patients who were looking forward to being fully immunised".

For a vast number of people, all they have to do is tell the press and broadcasters exactly what people should do. Something like add 9 weeks. Print a calendar to look up new dates.

OK - those in care homes might be less able to find out - but if the care home cares, no problem.
