This a what I meant about Greenwich getting it right about shutting physical schooling but Johnson stupidly overruling them. It remains to be seen whether he'll back down on the school closures or prefer to kill a few more people. I'm betting the latter.

The way things are going it seems the local, regional and other lower ranking authorities are making the better Covid control decisions, more appropriate and at the right time.
.
I agree with you regarding schools, they should have closed them at the beginning of last week if they intend having the Christmas easing of rules. Schools are Coronavirus factories and now freshly infected children are going to be indoors for long periods of time with elderly relatives over the five day period. They’ve messed it up again.

Eaton and many other public schools shut down last week for this very reason. The class system is alive and well. The junior officers from Eaton are protected behind enemy lines, whilst the cannon fodder Private foot soldiers from state schools are ordered to advance on the virus.

I think they need to announce the scrapping the 5 day spread-fest over Christmas by the end of play tomorrow, at the latest.

Stick to hot tea if drinking outside, the heat kills off the pox. You're safe with a good old Indian or Chinky carry home as well, same reason hot container cold drinks forget it.

Fizzy drinks also produce an aerosol cloud. And it appears aerosols are pretty good at spreading Covid-19. If the drink itself has virus in it, such as from the person drinking it, I'd imagine more effective spreading from a fizzy cold drink than tea or coffee.

Paper about fizz - mostly drinks

Yes. I have not had an Ice-cream in a shop this calendar year. Likewise a salad. Except home grown

Boris Johnson urges ERG to ignore EU 'propaganda' over Brexit deal"

Byzantine politics at it's best!
@BBCkatyaadler
EU sources saying U.K. has accepted the idea of ‘managed divergence’ in exchange for preferential access to single market. Ie if U.K. divergences from EU standards (which U.K. gov demands as its post #Brexit ‘sovereign right’) then EU has right to retaliate eg with tariffs

Back on topic, the Brexit negotiations have become like a car journey.

Ursula and Boris driving the car and trying to work out a way to the destination and all us kids in the back asking every few minutes:

"Are we nearly there yet?"

All written as if the UK would not have some sort of right to respond reciprocally with tariffs should the EU change their rules.

And is he really saying the ERG are so stupid that they install believe all EU propaganda? So brave Johnson has to use his formidable intellect to put them right. (Probably in Greek.)

Of course, he might have a point about their stupidity...

Modification.. Ursula is Driving , Boris is asking the question ,and wanting to take toilet breaks every lay-by, and the rest of us are stuck in the boot.

Oh goody, more Covid restrictions in after Christmas for all of us.

If the Welsh suffer much more they'll be changing their country's name to Wails.
.
Well I expect the same for Ireland. The numbers are looking relatively good now, but there will be a great influx of our kids in the USA , who have been fed the propaganda thats its only a flu, . So lockdown 3 will be from Jan 15 th. I expect.

No wonder Corbyn faced opposition from his own party

And the Conservatives?
In 2014, CFI stated that 80% of Conservative MPs were members.

In alphabetical order, members of Conservative Friends of Israel include:

To be fair even Corbyn is implicated (but not from Israel strangely)

Seriously our whole parliamentary system needs huge changes
Namely Honesty and Truthfulness
Donations from, and loyalty to Foreign Countries need curbing

Johnson’s bottled it. Shifted responsibility and decisions onto the public.

If three households meeting indoors is unsafe, they should say so and tell people , in clear terms, not to do it. I don’t think it can or should be enforced, but they can tell people it’s unsafe and not to do it. Cowards.

BTW, do you know that the Covid variant that Matt Hancock mentioned a couple of days ago, N501Y, has the same double deletion at position 69/70 (also referred to as Cluster 5) as the variant that was on the farmed minks in Denmark back in June?

No need to mask up. No need to isolate. You can have a good Xmas now. They've found the cause of Covid-19. This Austrian MP tested a glass of cola and it came back positive, so just keep away from cola, and everything will be fine:
I wonder where he bought his test strip. Ebay maybe?
Do you know that less than 5% of the CV tests return positive?
There are some false positives but they are rare.

That is appalling .. . Now the "loyalty to Foreign Countries " ,bit is more problematic. Where does that leave any Scottish Tory or Labour or SNP MP, or more particularly any DUP, Alliance or SDLP member? This is the only category where SF scores highly!.

So then this Christmas when you communicate with a loved one keep it small and keep it short, also do it in a bubble....strange.
