LONDON (Reuters) - British police said on Tuesday they were dealing with a security incident at London’s St Thomas’ Hospital, with the nearby Westminster Bridge leading to parliament closed to traffic.


Police said they would provide more information when known.


Witnesses reported on social media that there were armed police present and that the hospital was not allowing people to enter or leave.


There was no immediate comment from the hospital.

Limp home mode is not funny.. an injector failed on my diesel in early September while trying to get to a ferry at Roscoff . It failed in the mountains called the Black Mountains in Brittany, about 80km from the port. Uphill the speed was 15 to 20km , using careful gear section on flat surface 40 and downhill 65.. .The route included a mountain top ,one of tge highest in Brittany,where they have a TV transmitter. French drivers were very polite!.

There was a small window of perhaps a couple of years when on line poker started to become a thing. The popular game at the time was Texas Limit Holdem. If you could be bothered to read a couple of books and had a basic idea of mathematical probabilities you could do quite well. I made several tens of thousands of pounds just playing evenings after work and weekends. On average I would be making about £50 per hour tax free, which for me anyway was decent money. For several reasons this window of opportunity closed after a while and I gave up on line poker as the game started to get more and more difficult to make money from.

If I was to play poker in a casino against experienced casino players I would be taken to the cleaners, I have no idea about what to look for regards body language etc, I did not have to worry about that playing on line when no one could see me smile as I had just been dealt two aces.

Over that couple of years I got to know several on line players who were playing for a living, these people were super smart far brighter than I was, often phd or post doc students from places such as MIT and Havard. They went on to make a fortune, were talking several million dollars. Some of them invested in property, I remember one guy bought two blocks of flats in Canada and let them out. Others moved to Vegas to live, got in with the wrong crowd and spent their money on wine women and song, and wasted the rest :)

Those are both very bad bets; a bet you hope you lose. Whatever the outcome you are a loser.

Excellent.. spot on . In my case I continue to lose my bets that I will die this year, I can never win at anything! I have been doing this for 45 years ,and continue to lose. ..but hope springs eternal.

Probably because a fuller study of the one case has been published on the 12th Oct.

Certainly, limitations in screening and testing availability for SARS-CoV-2 exacerbate the poor surveillance efforts being undertaken not only to diagnose COVID-19 but also to obtain actionable genetic tracking of this agent."

Well that was silly wasn't it. Now if you'd have had a word with me beforehand I could have arranged for both those bets to work out to your advantage, let me know next time.

I gave up on life insurance when I realised that it was cheaper buy a pre paid funeral
