Govt. should have used Angelsey (or Downing St ) instead of isle of Wight for track & trace app testing

I've been expecting this to happen. It happened in USA a few weeks ago, Trump used some kind of presidential power he has to stop the meat processing plants from closing when they wanted to. Germany too is starting to have problems in these types of facilities there was a story on Bloomberg TV about it this morning.

Have to make an admission everyone, I'm a descendant of Dutch colonial slave traders. Apparently my ancestors were richer than the royals (wish I knew where it all went) .
Do I regret it ? yes of course slavery is inexcusable, should I say sorry ? of course not I didn't do it and I'm not responsible for the sins of my great-great-great and so on grandfathers. When will this nonsense end.

I wonder if it would be cost effective to produce a dedicated contact tracing device, rather than rely on a phone’s hardware? Something like a wristband with Bluetooth and / or wifi and hardware dedicated to the task of logging IDs and measuring proximity.

How many generations back?

You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous (impassioned) God [demanding what is rightfully and uniquely mine], visiting (avenging) the iniquity (sin, guilt) of the fathers on the children [that is, calling the children to account for the sins of their fathers], to the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me,

There is sense - up to the point at which you expect people to wear them and keep them charged and, well, what do they do with them? Connect them to their phones so they know what is happening?

That would make SoundWave and VFR's brain explode

It's bad enough with what the govt are desperately trying to develop - and I certainly won't be installing it

That would make far more sense since so many do not use smartphones.

OFCOM make a stupid guesstimate that only 3% don't own a smartphone, appearing to rely on an old figure of 78.5 million registered phones in 2014, some 15 million more than there were men, women and children of any age in the country!

A more rational figure at last year suggests that 79% use a smartphone, so over a fifth of the of the country not using one and not accessible to an app.

I'm of mixed heritage. But in part affluent. I suspect, like me, you have a hunch where some of it went? The subsidised health and social services in an affluent country in a privileged global trade position, the semi subsidised tertiary education (at least in my days). Its a world away from being a descendant of slaves in some parts of the ex colonies.
