the ONS has not published COVID19 related deaths.
Note: the COVID column is left blank.

ONS has published only up to 27-March
CV deaths:

5103539

In the last 3 weeks, CV has caused a lot more fatalities in hospitals and in community.

what virus pmsl we cant even kill more ppl than the avg die anyway, if i go jump off the motor way bridge and get hit buy 3 lorry's if i test positive for cv10 thats why i died.

bull $hit, there are 66 million ppl in the uk and 8 billion on this planet the numbers do not add up.

every one has been fkn brain washed buy non stop lies 247 non stop that ppl can not even think straight anymore and will sit in there box and just starve to death.

Disabled man starved to death after DWP stopped his benefits

and now 1.5 million sheeple will be on benefits they will be lambs to the slaughter the dwp will kill!
SW... How long does it take to have a death registered?.
Your graphic is extremely misleading.. we are now in Mid April . The total number of admitted CV19 deaths in the first three months to 13 March was .... 10. So the number of admitted CV19 deaths is 12000 in one month.. but now at a rate of about 800 per DAY.
Now there is a question about the veracity of these figures ,as the 800 is hospital deaths only, and care homes and own homes deaths are not yet included.. Our figures in Ireland, where we do include care homes etc, indicate that this number is comparable with hospital deaths.. so a real death rate of 1600 per day is not unlikely. Since the average death rate is around the 2000 per day in the UK, then the average has Doubled or at least, gone up by 50% .
The lockdown only started on 23 March in UK, it takes upwards of 2 weeks for symptoms to start showing, and another 2 weeks of high production of virus, ..for those who will recover, and usually another 3 or more weeks for the sicker people to die . So you need 7 weeks from 23 rd March to see major reductions

Well at least there should be some good news at the briefing tonight when the government announces that they have hit the 25000 Coronavirus tests per day, which was promised less than two weeks ago. It’s been a Herculean effort and has involved much ramping, underpinning and I’ve lost count of the number of stops which have been pulled out.

If they’ve missed the target, expect the news agencies to rip them apart.

This paragraph below from the BBC is awful. Can you imagine having a parent or other close relative in a care home at this time. I have a friend who is a carer in one of these places, hospitals and social services are sending untested elderly people to them. Handcock wants ******* regarding this testing shambles. He has the audacity to get aggressive when challenged too. A vile man.

Many older people are being "airbrushed" out of coronavirus figures in the UK, charities have warned.
The official death toll has been criticised for only covering people who die in hospital - but not those in care homes or in their own houses.
It comes after the government confirmed there had been virus outbreaks at more than 2,000 care homes in England.

Even the Mail carry this story.

I suspect holiday weekend issues, but are the figures wrong (or, to be fair, delayed) or the number of tests done dismal?

In Wales on 11/04, tests slumped to just 80. 586 on 10/04, 922 on 09/04, 939 on 08/04 (which had been the highest achieved so far).

I know the Cardiff drive-through test centre was closed yesterday (at which Adam Price railed).

In 4 weeks, the ONS would have published the figure for last week and I wouldn't be surprised if the COVID number exceeds those who die of other causes.

they only concentrate their effort one day a week to hit some target.
The rest of the week, they test only those who come to hospitals with symptoms.

When is the government going to admit that wearing face masks will help stop the spread of Coronavirus? Its plainly obvious that face masks offer protection when people are in close proximity with each other.

TFL are slaughtering bus drivers at an alarming rate. It’s about time the Mayor did something for them. He’s as useless as the Tory government in this regard.

The UK will lead the global coronavirus response to end this pandemic sooner

By stopping a pandemic from turning into a long-term humanitarian disaster it will not just save lives but will help end the global spread of this disease sooner, writes Anne-Marie Trevelyan

Thank goodness !

Well if they are planning to slaughter people in care homes and even more in their own homes, I guess they won’t need as much medical kit.

I was surprised to see disposable masks being handed out at stations (can't remember now which European country) last night on the news.

I'd have thought the rational approach would be re-usable masks such as some of the cotton ones? Partner has made several. Especially if it can be confirmed that ten seconds of ironing with a steam iron is sufficient to disinfect (adequately for one-person use, at least). I doubt they are less effective in real world use than some of the bottom-end disposable ones.

Masks must have a degree of effectiveness, even if they prevent a person touching their nose or mouth, that’s better than nothing.

Masks will be the next aspect of this virus that we will find that the government has let us down over.

Agreed:

Labour is calling for the publication of daily figures showing how many people have died with coronavirus in care homes. This is from Liz Kendall, the shadow minister for social care.

The increase in Covid-19 deaths in care homes is extremely worrying, but the true picture will sadly be even worse because these figures [see 9.52am] are only up to the week ending the 3rd April.

We urgently need these figures on a daily basis to help deal with the emerging crisis in social care and ensure everything possible is being done to protect more than 400,000 elderly and disabled people who live in nursing and residential care homes.

Fully agreed.

Utter rubbish, they have face masks and where possible the front entry is closed and only middle entry used with front seats of lower deck not used to leave the driver in a large space of his own. There is nothing else that can be done in a bus where large numbers are carried in a single space with a single air con system, other than shut down the bus service.

And it was the Tories who introduced single crewed buses with drivers interfacing with passengers instead of being in their own separate cab, for money reasons of course, as ever with the Tories.

Sadiq Khan is a good mayor doing everything possible in a crowded city with double the national rate of Covid-19, hence that bus driver rate. He's infinitely better than his Tory predecessor, Boris Johnson.
