You are panicking! the Labour party lost just 2% of it's voters, and the Conservatives only gained 1% more than last time.
My goodness, a 2% loss of support means a party is disappearing because it's leader failed?
No chance.
And a few weeks all this will be forgotten as Starmer takes over and starts mauling Boris at the dispatch box, by then Boris will have made plenty of gaffes to take him to task on.
Nice one flecc. You gave OG an agree when he stated Labour had lost 2% of vote, when we all knew it was closer to 20%.
Listened to Vine this morning. Labour even now still arguing amongst themselves. Go right, go left, go centre, leave, remain.,ref2...They are clueless.

Quite hilarious that we have two Leave Votes bewailing the loss of their precious opposition as a consequence of something they "Knew what they were voting for"
Guess you didn't eh chaps?
I’m sorry, I have no idea what this means. Could you break it down so that someone simple like me can understand it please.

And numerous Labour voters not having a clue they, d supported Leave. And one who thinks Labour only lost 2% of vote. If I were you OG I, d do what Flecc's doing. Being quiet. Your best strategy at moment.

I didn't know the figures, my agree was to OG's last paragraph about Starmer. (Me not being quiet)

now you know the figure, are you still convinced that Corbyn didn't blow it?

Let us know what it is in 3 years Oyster. We might have an inkling how things might go by then.
You want a three year view, well here you are:

GBP wasn't too bad in 2016, though not as good as 2015. Brexit has cost an almighty fortune in terms of price of imports.

As I posted to Oxygen James on this link, I knew it was a lost cause long ago and Corbyn obviously lost the "giveaway" race with Johnson by going too far.

But like many others I don't want Labour to shift to the right Blair fashion just to get into power. There's no point in two parties introducing crippling Tory policies like PFI, as Blair did.

Labour lost 20.1% of their votes from 2017.(OG you were out by a factor of 10)
OG! A factor of ten!

You should hang your head in shame, pick up a dunces cap from the dunces cap cupboard - and sit in the corner of the class until you feel sufficiently atoned.

That might take a while OJ. OG doesnt suffer from atonement.

Well goodness me. You can read the past. Clever bit is next 3 years. Not last.
Pound has been over valued against euro for years. Yes, is was great going abroad but even now with appaling tourist rate (1.15 to pound last time I looked) fuel, food etc is on a par or cheaper in France and Spain. You can still buy a bottle of cheap Brandy under a fiver... And wine... well its cheaper than water if you look in right places. Even now.
I, m just wondering how low pound has impacted your life so much? Sod all difference to mine, and I spend half my time abroad somewhere or other.

Starmer will be the next leader
Not if I have anything to do with it he won't.

I just joined the Labour party - total cost so far £4.30 - and every month after that. So be it. I joined the Torys so that I could vote for Boris in their leadership election - and I want a say in Labour's LE too.

Personally I think Lisa Nandy is the pick of the bunch. We need a Labour leader with some charisma - Starmer has almost none.

We need a strong opposition - for the health of our democracy. Boris will not be beaten or challenged by anybody without some real energy and spirit - which I think Lisa has in buckets and with some half sensible policies (ie not nationalising everything that moves) - I'd even vote for her myself in a GE.

We shall see.

Starmer has no chance.

Don't take any notice OG, they're just putting the worst possible slant on it using factors. You do the opposite with the best slant, 10 is only 2 in binary.
Hmmmmm. Labour got 32% in this election - in 2017 they got 40%.

I am open to arguments as to how that counts as a 2% fall (which is what OG said).

In your own time.
