Blunkett is on the bandwagon aswell. Fairly pointless though. Who listens to him.
We should read articles and decide if they deserve being put on here. Agreed none of above do but how many of yours OG are actually authentic and trustworthy. 1% at most.
We can all simply find garbage to reinforce our own views OG, thats all you are doing.

I am aware of civil rights. And at what age you can enjoy them.

You were referring to criminal law. Or legal responsibility as you put it.

You said 14 year olds were the start of criminal responsibility.

It's actually 10 years old.

No biggie. We all make mistakes.

There isn't a separate criminal law for 10 years upwards.
Don't lie Fingers, I did not say nor have ever said that 14 was the age of criminal liability since I know the law in this area only too well.

Your mistake was to butt in on my reply to someone else without the courtesy of seeing what the discussion was about. Had you bothered to look, you'd have seen that it was about the civil rights of older youngsters in which it was queried at what age should there be division, citing several possible teen ages. Clearly this was nothing to do with the age of criminal responsibility, making your response completely inappropriate.

In response to the OP I observed there was ready made legal division at 14 years.

That neither required nor justified any comment from you.

Actually it is very hard to find any evidence that contradicts my views, but I do try.

Legal responsibility is what you said.

Anyway. I have no wish to upset you. I shall withdraw from this conversation and just post funny pictures like OG does.

Another consequence of brexit - apparently:

UK Home Office: We will register thousands of deactivated firearms with no database
All that is needed is an email inbox, say civil servants
The UK Home Office insists that a new law forcing it to create a new registration system for potentially millions of deactivated firearms and their owners will need neither a new database nor more public spending.

Passed quietly into law last week by Parliament, the Firearms Regulations 2019 will make it a criminal offence to transfer a deactivated firearm to another person unless both giver and receiver register the transaction with the Home Office. It comes into force from 12 December – which also happens to be election day.

The law was transposed from EU directive 2017/853, which, among many other things, makes it mandatory to register deactivated firearms with a state agency.

In the UK's case, this will be the Home Office – and the government department reckons it can register hundreds of thousands of objects along with hundreds of thousands of individual owners and tens if not hundreds of thousands of transactions per year without spending money or procuring a database to keep track of everything it's being told.

I hope no-one ends up suffering from re-activated guns - which are the target of this legislation. Without any effective registration of deactivated guns, they cannot be tracked or traced leading to greater availability of illegal guns.

My reason for posting was to highlight the utter incompetence of the government at managing almost anything.

Going off half cocked again. If you knew something about the subject you would know that the issue isnt about keeping a record of deactivated guns its about deactivating them properly in first place. If deactivated properly (barrel welded closed and breach drilled) anyone capable of reactivating one could build one from scratch actually easier. Its no news, its merely you looking for more ammunition to feed you and OG's obsessions.
Lets have a whip round and buy pair of you some knitting needles. FFS.
I come back in here wade through yours and OG's cut and paste and think WTF, I, ve just wasted 10 minutes of my life reading this rubbish. Cant you just try and at least cut and paste something remotely interesting or relevant.
Half of country is submerged and all youtwo can find is a Bridge closed for 6th formers and government have changed rules about recording data on deactivated guns. A new low. Utter rubbish.

Observer has news of Arcuri investigation:

The scandal over Boris Johnson’s friendship with technology entrepreneur Jennifer Arcuri was reignited on Saturday after the Observer revealed that the independent police watchdog has delayed its announcement on whether the PM should face an investigation into possible criminal misconduct until after the election.

The decision prompted fury from Westminster politicians and London assembly members who said it appeared that a ruling had been “suppressed” in order to protect Johnson from potentially damaging headlines at a crucial stage of the election campaign.

You really struggle when you should say "Sorry I was wrong" don't you? so instead you dig the hole you made for yourself deeper even when the water is coming in.
You were wrong, admit it.

And you have the cheek to post this

Watching the main parties argue about their spending plans hardly seems worth while, as if we don't get rid of Brexit they will go out of the window anyway, and the argument will be over how big a loan to ask the IMF for.
