I loved seeing Boris get his backside kicked by the vote,couldn't quite tell if bercow attacked him or mogg though

My Grandfather was from the Gorbals. I remember sitting on his knee. I must have been 3 or 4 and him giving me a sip of whiskey.

He died before I was five but I have a strong affinity to Scotland.
My biggest fear of Brexit is the real possibility of Scotland leaving.

Former Justice Secretary David Gauke confirms he has had the whip withdrawn after he rebelled against the government's Brexit position.
He says in a tweet his support for the night's motion was "probably not a good career move but the right choice".
He reveals he met Boris Johnson earlier in the day and was "unconvinced that he had a plan to reach a deal on Brexit".
"No proposal has been submitted to the EU. We were told that if it had been submitted, the EU would have dismissed it. But that talks were ‘going well’."

Why didn't anyone demand his resignation? that is what is required.
He said this was a case of do or die, and he has no intention of doing, so what option (politically) of course is left other than to resign?
Now he has a negative majority and should be sidelined.
His plot has failed and Parliament should insist he be replaced, or take over with a caretaker Government.

tory rank and file will simply put up another brexiteer to replace him.
The problem with the last referendum was that Cameron promised to his party something that it was not up to him to deliver.
If the 'rebel alliance' wins again this evening, the best thing is to try for a national unity government with Ken Clarke and JC as joined PM. Sort out a compromise on brexit or another referendum but this time, explain well that it's advisory only, no promise to deliver anything.
