It was never going to work anyway, no matter what we will fail outside of the EU. That is an absolute.

As I've posted before, we've gone about leaving in entirely the wrong way, plunging into it with no preparation, just like jumping off a boat a couple of miles out to sea before learning to swim.

I am not in principle against leaving the EU, but as with embarking on anything so complex, planning and preparation are everything.

The right way to go about leaving was for a party, presumably the Tories, to have a general election manifesto with the intention to start preparations to leave the EU, acknowledging that this would take considerable time.

Then when elected, and they would be, to go all out to develop our world wide trade under the WTO terms while reducing our EU dependence. If we are good enough that is perfectly possible while in the EU, as Germany and several other EU members demonstrate so well.

Then if successful X years later, hand in article 50. If not successful, forget it and work co-operatively within the EU to make that organisation as good as possible.
.
The whole Brexit shambles is a perfect example of the principle known as "the 7 p's", P**s Poor Planning Promotes P**s Poor Performance.

House price collapses next.
Then negative equity, then banks get twitchy bums over mortgages, then......

Hmmm looks like the beginning of a familiar cycle of events. But we didn’t have the aggravating factor of Brexit the last time. Let’s strap in and see where this one takes us. Hope you Brexit voters have plenty of cash reserves, you’re going to need them.

I do,

Brexit is working for me and hasn’t hurt anyone yet.

I did ask for early warning when you post jokes humorous only to yourself, he is pointing out that the damage is already great, not that all is well.

Thanks dude. Yes it does seem to be falling into place. Although don’t forget it actually hasn’t happened yet.

I know it’s easy to think differently because of all the media coverage but you have to be aware. Which I’m sure you are.

Exactly. Look at the effects of just an increased probability of it happening, and that gives you a Brexit Lite version of what’s going to happen.

You're saying things are going to get even better for me?

Wow. I bloody love brexit!

That is the pound versus the dollar. The importance of which is that fuel is purchased in Dollars
I have the impression that people are selling their UK assets and move their money to USD or EURO. Stuff like unit trusts that can be liquidated at short notice.

So Johnson will lose the right to hold an election tomorrow as well.

That is very funny. Very good wheeze. I hope the idiot Corbyn doesn't screw this up cos this will make Johnson more impotent than Caitlin Jenner.

A limp dick pm who would have to call a no confidence vote in himself!

Don’t you think it’s time to abandon Brexit now?

The U.K. is like a building firm trying to pull out if the NHBC so that it can build shoddy homes, but still wanting to sell them as a warrantied quality product. Meanwhile, the management are falling out with each other and proclaiming they have no confidence in themselves. All the time, the company share price is plummeting. And when you ask them why they are embarking on such a mission, they say they don’t know.

Who would invest in or do business with such an outfit as U.K. Ltd ?

It was a nice fantasy for a while, it hasn’t worked, it’s not going to work, scrap it and let’s get the company into some sort of order again. Perhaps we can re-visit the idea if we are ever better placed to consider it in the future.

What is also astonishing is the fact that Johnson and several members of his government are threatening to sack MPs who do exactly what they themselves did just a few months ago, vote against the government. How did we end up here?

Or abstain.

Maybe if they had done that from the beginning, it would have made clearer the impossibly deep divisions?

Anyone think TM is tempted to join the LibDems?
