I agree, they are now going to blow the fruits of a decade's worth of hardship and lack of services for millions of people in a feeble attempt to buy an election win. Labour are no better, they would do the same.

Once the Tories were the most trusted for management of the economy, but in recent years they haven't have a fiscal policy. It's obviously decided from moment to moment on a whim, with three chancellors in a row, each with their own very different personal policy.

The Conservative working majority in the UK House of Commons shifted to minus 1, as Tory MP Phillip Lee crossed to the opposition benches to become a Liberal Democrat. Later that evening their majority dropped further — to negative forty-three, as twenty-one Tory MPs were expelled for voting against the government to advance a bill that would potentially block crashing out of the European Union with No Deal on October 31.
How long before he puts the blame on Cummings, or Gove, or the EU, or Farage or anybody handy???

The UK is at risk of slipping into recession, according to a closely watched survey of industry managers.
The dominant services sector grew only slightly in August, the purchasing managers' index (PMI) from IHS Markit/CIPS suggests.
"The lack of any meaningful growth... raises the likelihood that the UK economy is slipping into recession," said IHS economist Chris Williamson.
The construction and manufacturing sectors also shrunk in August.

As expected, Boris Johnson has suffered another big loss, with the Commons rejecting his motion calling for a general election.
The PM would have needed 434 votes to reach a two third majority.

So what happens now? He can’t exit without a deal, he can’t call an election and he says he will not ask the EU for an extension. Where does he go?
