It's not about forests per se. It's about biodiversity, a key component of the ecology us primates take for granted and abuse so much. And that we are part off and rely on for survival. I realize brexiters have great difficulty extending their consciousness beyond gratifying narrow self obsessed interests. And recognizing that existence is interdependent. But surely you cant be so limited that this obvious truth escapes you?
Of course it escapes him all he sees if short term profit

They have been saying that all along, haven't they, they are still talking about the Irish backstop not the May's Deal.
So what do you see as changed?
Remember WE asked for the backstop not the EU
What are you disagreeing with there, Daveboy?

Yes things do change. 2 weeks ago the EU said they would not re-negotiate, yesterday they said they want Boris to come up with some "concrete proposals"

To be be honest I can't remember, what did it say before?
They have been saying that all along, haven't they, they are still talking about the Irish backstop not the May's Deal...……..Then you added another paragraph .

The reason I disagreed was because of this...

You can see the EU's attitude to Boris is different to Mrs may....They don't know how to deal with Boris, They are not sure what he is going to say or do next and to be fair I don't think Boris knows either.

I still think Boris is desperate for a deal, any deal, to prove he tried

After all the promises Boris made at the referendum the last thing he wants is for history to look back at the fact he failed to deliver on any of them.
He's a desperate man driven by vanity

Playing Devils advocate, If Boris does a deal with the EU (tying us to them in someway) What's to stop a future government changing the deal ? The USA had signed up to all sorts of deals (climate change,Nato, tariffs etc.) but Trump just seems to change them.

He edits everything.

He is very concerned that his readership of a million might think of him as a cockwomble like we do.

No Change..but the body language tells its own story. Lets just get back to basics. The EU 27 agreed a WA in association with Mrs Mays Administration. The form of Backstop was a British Invention . Irelands case simply is that no hard border be on the island of Ireland. Mrs Merkel s advice was that the exact form of the Backstop, and methods of allivating it could be addressed in the Future Arrangements section. The UK got fixated on removing the Backstop, not on solving the underlying problem...and that is where they still are.

Nothing. Nothing at all.

But the difference is when we go back and ask for a deal they can say bugger we don't trust you.

When America goes back they say sure. Sorry about that misunderstanding.

Indeed, and it's very likely what will happen. Do remind us why you voted for this self destructive, futile detour?

Bojo will make it up as he stumbles along.
Nobody can seriously offer him anything. They just have to wait until he hits some walls from Farage, the ERG, his backbenchers or some ex wifes.
