Food will always be left around for urban foxes. It is becoming quite a problem in north London
Indeed, discarded fast food particularly. The foxes clean it up for us, big problem? Seems good to me in an age where council street cleaning has all but disappeared.

As for attacks on children, I remember one case where a baby was nipped, the parents carelessly leaving door open access. That inspired huge hysteria.

Yet over the years I've long lost count of the numbers of children killed by our dogs, and all we do it put the dogs down and pass more futile laws.

If you, d lived in France you would know full well the message put out about wild boar hunting is nothing like reality. Its barbaric. Its men out having a wild time, setting dogs on other animals, shooting pigs and having a jolly in 4x4s.(which they need to bring back the dead 300kg pig or 85kg mountain biker they have shot)
I suppose the French habit of force feeding geese to point of bursting or Spanish obsession with torturing bulls is ok with you because its in your beloved EU. They are all cruel flecc. They should all be banned and I, m shocked at you defending such a barbaric activity, one you would not tolerate or support were it on land near you.
The Bishop of no fixed Abode strikes back :D
Ayup Zlatan Eee lad only thee could manage to attack the EU because our lot are as barbaric as theirs are.
Top marks good shot
Don't forget to mention we batter fish in Yorkshire!

Second reminder, I haven't defended anything they do and I certainly don't defend their farming practices. Try to let it soak into your brain. I've merely said their practice of hunting what they can eat makes more sense than our hunting what we can't eat.

It's you who has expanded that way off the subject of fox hunting in Britain into all sorts of other areas not under discussion, like shooting accidents and force feeding geese.

Parents carelessly leaving their back door open? So it was the parents fault that the fox also went upstairs where they had also left their babies door carelessly left open too?

What nonsense you type to make your bs work for you.

You do make me chuckle.

The same precautions should be taken for babies with foxes around as we take with dogs, if we are sensible. They must know there are urban foxes and that foxes hunt.

The obsession with sterilising all danger out of existence is ridiculous, the natural world has its rightful place and we should live accordingly.

Well I m glad you, ve cleared that up... We can now both agree Fox and Boar hunting with dogs is extremely cruel and should be banned, but Boar hunting not quite so bad if you like taste of Sanglier meat.

So don't sterilise all danger but do when it comes to foxes and keep all doors shut in the day?

More pearls.

We should throw a blanket over you because you're on fire!

I eat shot wild venison regularly, Sainsburys do nice lines in venison burghers and sausages. Very tasty, much healthier than beef and ensures culled animals don't go to waste.

We don't have enough wild boar yet for a market in that, possibly never will since they are being effectively contained.

A s you well know and I've made clear, I meant sterilising by getting rid of, not taking sensible precautions. And I've said nothing about keeping all doors closed, only protecting babies due to their vulnerability.

A Werewolf in London from early 80s should have been ample warning on the potential dangers of letting furry folk in uninvited...

They made a song about it and everything. Yet would we listen?

Well some did obviously as it charted quite high.

You were referring to a specific incident and said the parents were somehow to blame for not keeping their back door shut. When in fact the baby was upstairs.

If you are going to be wrong do it to someone who doesn’t know the news item.

I am very well aware of that, knowing the news item just as thoroughly as you from that time. And as I mentioned, I'm also well aware of the hysteria that resulted.

Why do you think I said, "weren't they aware that foxes hunt"? They'll go anywhere they think there might be food, so leaving a baby open to access from outdoors with no adult around is careless. Surely the baby's room door could be closed.

A hungry fox has no respect for homes, I had one enter the open french door of my lounge when I was quietly reading at the back of the room. Dangerous no, it fled when I looked up and spoke, but I certainly wouldn't leave it access to an unattended baby on any floor level.
