Reading between the lines I think Johnson intends to cop out by aiming for what is in truth an EFTA type deal, something like Norway and what we could have had two years ago.

Thus letting down all the hard brexiters who want to fully detach from the EU, instead keeping them almost fully in the EU but with no influence.

The question will be how long it takes them to realise that?
.
I think its looking ever more likely we, ll be crashing out and under BJ.
Never made sense that remainers didnt get behind May as her deal wasnt really leaving.
We will leave this November. Tories are convinced its their route to keeping in power.
You remainers should have supported May, it was your best option.
Many folk's hatred of Tories and May has fostered a much harder Brexit, compounded by Labour rolling over and dying.

I'm sure that nice Mr Murdoch will find a way of presenting it as a stunning victory.

if we crash out, parliament will force a new GE and a new government will be likely to be much more moderate and negotiate on the basis of May's deal.

Utter rot, and that is being kind. It never made sense that anyone voted for Brexit in the first place and set this shambolic affair in motion.
And to still support it when all the promises have proved to be lies is simply nuts.
Welcome to Cuba.

I'm not disagreeing that we'll leave then, just saying that I believe Johnson intends that sort of post leave deal regarding trade with the EU. He knows that's possible. His tactic will probably be to tell the EU we won't impose any tariffs on leaving to allow present trade to continue while the new deal is established, suiting the EU.

It's a typical Johnson deceit, watch this space.

So we are in fact no better off whatever happens.
That being the case lets go for a no deal Brexit and make the idiots who voted for it put their money where their mouth is so to speak.
All or nothing.
Incidentally who are they going to negotiate with?
Trump?

the fight has always been between brexit and remain and the longer we delay brexit, the more likely brexit will be cancelled.
Brexiters have to force leaving before the next GE.
If we haven't left by the next GE, we won't leave.

He wont let me down, dont really mind either way. Its you thats upset, about everything and everybody.
Just had a great 10 days on IoM...frightening..but fantastic.
Still think May was your best option. What have you got now? No deal, BJ or Gove. Remainers have got nothing, even after all their moaning, insulting, shouting, petitions and posting. Corbyn deserted you all, left you unrepresented apart from Vince.. Had you been serious about not leaving you should have got behind May, the remainer. But dogma stopped you. Now what have you got. Boris.. Ah ah. You deserve him.

Which is why I believe we'll leave as if it's No Deal with EU agreement, having been promised by Boris that trade continues without tariffs while a new trade deal is established.

That will suit the EU and appear as though Boris had toughed it out. The nasty truth will appear much later, something that has never worried Johnson in the past as he walked away from messes he's created.

They dont have to force anything Woosh. They can sit and do nothing. We leave Oct 31st. Deal or no deal. Its going to be no deal. No way on earth will EU change a thing.... And neither will Boris...

You know the saying, he who laughs last, laughs longest.

Wait 'til Boris gives us an EFTA style deal, EU membership in all but name.

You only got the last four words wrong. Boris changes what he says more often than his socks.

I, d agree with you if it were his decision or if he had options. He gets what EU offers or he takes no deal, and they might even only offer no deal with all the fiasco.
Our car industry (I use the word our in politeness) is fecked already. No deal wont make it any worse.
Boris will do what he is told to keep Labour out of no 10, no EFTA, no deal. Then they will all start picking up the pieces as PH said to do months ago.

we can't leave without parliament enacting brexit legislation for domestic law, first of all, the 2018 EU Withdrawal Act.
That was the reason why we could not leave last March.
If we crash out as you said on the 31st October, the government will be in limbo until fresh GE.
As flecc explained, BJ won't charge any tariff until the new government takes over.
Any WTO brexit should be relatively short in time scale. A new government would then have the choice how to brexit or rejoin.
Whichever way you look at it, if we have not left by the next GE, a lot of conservatives will vote for Farage and let JC into No 10. If BJ crashes out, a lot of Farage's supporters won't bother to vote, JC will still get in.

We, ll see. You believe in UK legislation but does the EU? If what you say is correct, there is no time scale but there is. Mutually exclusive? If we cant leave come November we dont have to do anything...??
"I, m sorry Mr Junker's replacement, we cant leave today, Queenie hasnt passed our leaving law just yet".. I dont think so Woosh.

any new government can simply ask parliament to ratify the withdrawal agreement within days.
Things will get back to normal henceforth.

I, m glad to hear that Woosh. Will be nice to come home to a setlled, well organised, fairly governed, prosperous country. Looking forward to coming home now.
Just clarify for me though Woosh, which withdrawal agreement. I must have missed that.

we seem to be forgetting one thing here. We are only one half of the equation. The EU may just say that we are out on 31 October so we may have no choice. Don't know how likely that is but I suppose it could happen.

I cant see any other option. What can BJ or anyone offer May didnt? The problem was getting our agreement through parliament not past EU. Nothing has changed. BJ will bluster and threaten, and leave with no deal. Its becoming inevitable. May's deal was the only compromise and WE chucked that out.
Like I said earlier, I could understand leavers not supporting May's deal. It was EU biased and not leaving. Remainers not supporting it was contradictory.
