I'd make a fc uking brilliant PM.
Trouble is - even a mildly competent investigator - probably within a horrifyingly short amount of time - would be able to dig up enough dirt on me from my history to bury my campaign before it had even begun to get off the ground.

Shame - because like I say - I'd be fc uking brilliant at that job.

Ireland
The following report from todays Dail (what we benighted Irish call our Parliament), our Taoiseach (Equivalent to PM, except supported by the majority in the Dail).... Report from RTE (our equivalent of BBC)

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said it is "a terrible political miscalculation" for some people in London to think that because the House of Commons failed to ratify the Withdrawal Agreement that they can now get a better Brexit deal.

Speaking during Taoiseach's Questions in the Dáil this afternoon, Mr Varadkar said: "I think like everyone in this house I am a little bit concerned about political developments in London at present.

"Teresa May was not a bad negotiator. She had a good team and I believe they got the best deal they could have got, given the limited leverage that a country leaving the European Union has.

"It took two years to negotiate the Withdrawal Agreement. It is not perfect. It is a finely balanced compromise. Everyone had to give and take. Sadly the House of Commons failed to ratify that agreement."

Then, in a broadside at some Conservatives, he said: "I am a little bit concerned that some people in London seem to think that because the House of Commons failed to ratify that the agreement that automatically means they are going to get a better one.

"That is a terrible political miscalculation. I hope that is not the one that is being made across the water. They made some miscalculations along the way."

He was speaking after a number of candidates to succeed Theresa May as British Prime Minister said they hoped to renegotiate the Withdrawal Agreement.

A number have also said they would be prepared to take the UK out of the EU without a deal if no new agreement had been reached by 31 October.

Mr Varadkar was critical of the way the British government has approached the Brexit negotiations to date.

He said: "Initially they thought that after the UK decided to leave that Ireland would somehow fall into line. That we might leave to. We didn't and we are not.

"Some thought that when push came to shove that Ireland would be abandoned. That EU unity would break. And they were wrong about that.

"We really hope that they are not making a further miscalculation which is to think that the House of Commons, having failed to ratify the deal would somehow get a better deal. That really misunderstands how the European Union works."

Aston Martin has just decided to open a new plant in Wales for electric cars.

Jaguar and BMW are teaming up for electric cars to be built in this country.

Sorry if that doesn't fit your misery agenda.

I still don't know why you said Hungary make as many cars as we do.
Talking of Aston Martin - they're going to make a limited edition of these - DB4 GT Zagato. 6 million squid each if you have it:

A million quid you say?

Ok. I'm listening.
you have to invest in me becoming the next PM.
Donate £100k to my fighting for brexit fund would secure it.

Marvellous isn't it? Brexit means that the economy will be saved by making cars only the people ripping the public off (and foreign oligarchs) can afford.
Is this what the disenchanted poor voted for?

The '92 Group' is a collection of MPs on the Right of the Tory party (named after 92 Cheyne Walk home of founder Sir Patrick Wall) which strongly supported Margaret Thatcher, even after Major replaced her.

Same for me, condemned at the outset, but I would never want to be a politician in government anyway.

Why volunteer for a job where it's impossible to satisfy more then a tiny minority of the customers and so many of the rest would hate me?

I wonder if AM would have made the same decision six months later? Despite very much wanting to remain looking British. And it was only possible due to the Red Dragon debacle: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/7967089.stm

The JLR/BMW agreement doesn't seem to say they will make anything for BMW, just develop.

I'm quite sure that's true, BMW are investing €1 billion in a new car production plant at the city of Debrecen in Hungary. With a capacity of 150,000 cars a year it will be producing both their i.c. and electric models.

And in July Jaguar Land Rover, announced it would be opening a technical engineering office in Hungary with 100 new jobs to complement corporate, R&D, engineering and manufacturing functions headquartered in the UK.

Also in Hungary, Daimler (Mercedes) began producing electric motors at its Gyor factory in July. Audi in the VW group are already manufacturing for e-cars there.

Co-incidentally Samsung opened a new electric car battery factory in Hungary in May.

Somehow I suspect we might not be getting such a big look in on e-car developments

A comedy award is due to the Daily Express!
First this
"
I'll get us out! Johnson to launch PM bid with Brexit rallying cry - 'Delay means defeat'
EXCLUSIVE: Boris Johnson is set to signal his readiness for a titanic clash with Brussels by insisting the UK must leave the EU by October 31 to restore trust in politics.

Then lower on the page

Brexit warning: Merkel and Macron prepare to boot UK out on October 31 - 'No blackmail!'
EU chiefs insisted Brussels would not be "blackmailed" and Britain would soon find itself in breach of "international law" if the next prime minister withholds the £39billion Brexit bill.

Who are you going to "clash" with Boris? they'll show you the door.
And you will as you always do
Blame them.

Well that would be an interesting court case....How much do the EU owe us for the infrastructure we have paid towards.

our share of net assets is worth about £7 billions, already factored into the £39 billions which by the way, covers membership fees until the end of the accounting period (Dec 2020).
If we leave without a deal, our minimum exposure is about £10 billions net. The rest is disputable.
I reckon we'd settle for about £25 billions to progress to the next stage of negotiation.
