He has also denounced Britain’s Brexit plans as ‘pure illusion’.

Then there is Guy Verhofstadt, Brexit coordinator for the European Parliament, who recently ranted about the failure of European states to hand over more sovereignty to Brussels. And who can forget Jean-Claude Juncker, the sobriety-challenged head of the European Commission, who has boasted about being ‘insufficiently democratic’, about sometimes ‘hav[ing] to lie’, and why it would not be ‘intelligent to draw the attention of public opinion’ to the fact that the EU demands greater and greater transfers of sovereignty from nation states.

This is the EU. Tusk’s comment wasn’t actually slippage or a mistake or even a stunt designed to grab headlines – it was a true and faithful expression of the Brussels oligarchy’s contempt for the people and for public opinion.

One of the most startling things in the video of Tusk’s elitist punching down at the British masses is when Varadkar turns to him and says, ‘They’ll give you terrible trouble in the British press for that’. They both then laugh and shake hands. Behold the new aristocracy, contemptuous of ordinary people, disdainful of democracy, hateful towards the critical press, and far more in favour of secrecy, bureaucracy and lies than openness and public debate.

.. that entire article is based on a lie. . I use the word LIE deliberately.it is an untruth intended to decieve. Mr Trusk, referred directly to those who.promoted the referendum.,not the 17 million who voted . The article asserts that he was insulting the 17 million and that IS the LIE.

2. Labour will not support WA outside of CU.
3. Backstop is irrelevant in a CU.
4. EU is politely saying no Article 50 extension ..on anything proposed at present...if CU were proposed by UK , that would be a game changer, and might justify an extension.
5. T. May cannot credibly propose CU .
6. There might be sufficient support in HoC for an Ireland only Backstop ,with Labour breaking ranks.
7. The DUP would feel betrayed, and would \may force a GE on say a budget vote.
The options open to UK renain as..
1. Do nothing ,crash out. ..
2. Withdraw Article 50. before 29th. March.
3. Allow free vote on WA. ...
4. Form national coalition government and start developing CU

It also might appear odd given the Commons leader, Andrea Leadsom, just last week cancelled MPs’ week-long recess in February in order to make progress with critical legislation relating to Britain’s withdrawal from the EU.
But MPs ended the session on Wednesday just four hours after sitting at 11.30am as there were no further debates or votes scheduled by the government
It is perhaps no surprise then that MPs this afternoon directed their frustration at ministers responsible for tabling substantive motions in the chamber.
