The European Union
Watching the interviews on TV one thing is clear
Not a single member of parliament has a clue what to do next

Now they are expecting Mrs May to go round and talk to people?

Was ever any nation so afflicted by it's rulers as we are?
I was thinking you could give her a can of petrol and a box of matches but we aren't in Spring yet are we...

When pets get old you take them to the vet...

Will someone please put her out of her misery, this is getting uncomfortable to watch!

No it wouldn’t.

It’s not how it works. You can’t keep having referendums or elections till you get what you want.

Even if remain won this doesn’t go away. And it needs to go away or we really will become a laughing stock.

Leave the EU or destroy our Union. A real union. Because a second referendum will mean one for Scotland and for N.I.

I know that’s what you want. You would destroy the UK to remain part of the EU and that’s why I can’t take you seriously.

Another 6 years of nonsense not to mention real change. And I mean real change not just a blue passport change. It would be a civil war without guns. Just because you lost a vote.
There are many who have argued that brexit itself has the potential to destroy the union. Not least, the SNP.

That’s the SNPs literall m.o. literally.

Everything has the potential to destroy the union when it comes to the SNP. That is not a surprise, it’s what they stand for.

Right on cue:

Scotland’s first minister Nicola Sturgeon has said that the SNP supports Jeremy Corbyn’s confidence motion.

Describing the vote as “a defeat of historic proportions for the prime minister and her government”, Sturgeon said:

It has been crystal clear for months that the Prime Minister’s approach was heading for a crushing defeat. Instead of facing up to that fact, she wasted valuable time with her postponement of the meaningful vote in December. There is no more time to waste.

She went on to call for the article 50 process to be halted “urgently” and that legislation be brought to hold a second referendum on EU membership.

Sturgeon added:

The SNP supports the tabled vote of no confidence in the Government – but regardless of who leads the government, the reality is that a second EU referendum, with the option of remain on the ballot paper, is now the only credible option to avoid untold damage to the economy and the prospects of future generations.
It is also the only option, within the UK, that would allow Scotland’s democratic wish to remain in Europe to be respected.

That isn't what I asked for or wanted. Since parliament cannot decide and is rejecting all options, I just want the public to decide which for them. If that's Leave, so be it.

If parliament does eventually decide, I won't want it to go to the public, however much I might dislike their choice.

Quel surprise.

Are you really shocked? Have you not been following this process or even the SNP in the last five years?

Parliament was given a chance to vote on an option tonight. They rejected it.

If parliament can’t get the next one through either or the next then it’s a wto Brexit.

Time is ticking and you have to blame May for that.

The BBC have this video from Hull of all places

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-politics-46871852/how-has-the-brexit-saga-impacted-friendships

The leave voters seem to have learned nothing new in the last two years, and come out with the same naive jingoistic responses as before.

"it's the patriotic thing to do" we don't need these other people" we need to be independent"
"I want to go back to the country my Nanna decribed before the EU"

Quite comical when you think about it

Completely agree - nothing has bought me more joy seeing May's deal comprehensively rejected since the kick in in gut feeling of the refereundum result

Will individual MPs votes be known?

But they are all opposed to that too!

Crazy situation. I can still see the can being kicked down the road with an Article 50 delay.

And PC's view:

Plaid Cymru Westminster Leader Liz Saville Roberts says after the "decisive" rejection of the prime minister's deal, if she survives a no confidence vote, there should be another referendum.

Ms Roberts - whose party opposed the deal - says: "The Brexit pendulum is swinging in our favour and all paths lead towards giving the people a final say.

"Parliament has failed, now let the people decide."

Do the EU have to agree to that? I am sure I have read that they are unlikely to agree to a delay unless there is a very good reason such as a GE or another referendum. If its just to give TM more can kicking time I don't think they would agree.

Was anyone disappointed with JC's speech after the vote? He really is a very poor speaker in the HOC. He said something along the lines that this was the worse defeat for a govt since the 1920s. It wasn't it was the worse ever. Now if I had been him I would have had written on a piece of paper the size of the worse defeat ever. I think it was something like 167 votes, and would have used this information in my speech to bash TM over the head with. How on earth did the Labour party end up with a leader as unsuitable as him in charge?

The Deal is Dead - The Backstop is Dead

"Juncker - "I urge the United Kingdom to clarify its intentions as soon as possible. Time is almost up.”

yes, your time is up you tit..

vote of `No confidence` in Gov tomorrow,

where they absolutely depend on the DUP ......

who along with the ERG will be calling the shots

There does not have to be a Parliamentary majority for no deal, there just has to be no majority for any other deal. Even a majority against no deal can not prevent that outcome. We just need to run out the clock to the 29th March 2019 and we leave properly by default.

it`s Run the Clock down time guys!
