The nuclear option?Lock the thread. It's causing too much trouble among those that don't know how to behave.
Absolutely!Remember this forum has 50,000 unique visitors a month looking at the industry. Maybe we should behave?

That is the fault of individuals not the thread.Threats of violence and extreme abuse have all been on this thread in the last 48h.
While it's causing no damage, let I carry on, its in the off topic section after all.
When it starts to cause trouble then the pedelec community doesn't need it anymore.
how about "why do you bother, I thought you reside in the land of garlic and cheese"
That's why I said that I thought you lived in France.I can only conclude that you don't read the business news, and do not have investments. I suggest you have a look. Rather a lot has happened, notably to the pound. Yup, I've moved to France. I'm in the south. The Riviera, recent tragedy aside,it has a human, communal atmosphere I didn't experience amongst the xenophobia in brexit UK. I have property in UK,pay quite a lot of tax there, but more than that I don't live by narrow minded nationalist preconceptions,so your jibe about me having left doesn't really have any bearing on my life.
for a more neutral response: Europe and many Europeans who reside in the land of garlic care a great deal about brexit. many care because they care about living in a shared world we all take care of each other in. they do not consider a Europe governed by those with sentiments like farage's or le pen's caring. so they care, greatly, about what this means.
By quoting the above, it appears to me that you are taking my words,"I thought you resided in the land of garlic and cheese" to mean sod off to France. You have provided no other evidence to support you accusation that I am telling immigrants to get lost.
On 23 July you posted the following in this thread. It is post #3083 on page 155
That's why I said that I thought you lived in France.
A lesson derf. Liars need to have good memories.
Now, for the third time, where have I told immigrants to get lost?
No, I wasn't saying get lost I said that I thought you now lived in France, not go to France or anything like that. Again, here is my reason for thinking you lived in France:I'm an immigrant, you inbred little dildo with ears. How much does one have to spell something out for you before you get it? you were attempting to tell me to get lost.
These are your words not mine.Yup, I've moved to France. I'm in the south. The Riviera, recent tragedy aside,it has a human, communal atmosphere I didn't experience amongst the xenophobia in brexit UK. Sorry, that's me, I take responsibility for the bad language and by-passing the filter. Agree regarding unacceptable language. It's no excuse but unjustified accusations of racism anger me.Chaps,
resorting to the language and tone of the last few posts is totally unacceptable.
I am also getting sick and tired of manipulation of the forum swear filter by inserting or replacing letters.
It's a very simple job to ban a user, I don't often do it but if you keep it up that's what will happen to you.
you asked why I care given that I live in france. in other words you suggested that I shouldn't care. a very large number of Europeans care a great deal about brexit. not for financial reasons. for ethical, human reasons. they do not wish to live in a world in which the ethics of le pen or farage are the guiding principles we live by. does that answer your question. When you said "why do you care, you live in France" it suggested to me that you felt I should not involve myself in this debate on the basis of not living in the UK. That to me suggested that you feel those who don't live in the uk shouldn't care about brexit. many of us do, a great deal. I really do hope this makes sense to you, because it is emphatically the last time I try to make myself clear. No, I wasn't saying get lost I said that I thought you now lived in France, not go to France or anything like that. Again, here is my reason for thinking you lived in France:
These are your words not mine.
derf, you have been proven to be a liar and trouble maker. Your gutter level morality knows no depths when it comes to furthering your agenda. I now have no idea which country you actually live in and I don't care.
You have totally discredited yourself and proven that you accusations do not withstand the briefest of scrutiny.
Now, for the fourth time, where have I told immigrants to get lost?
We are all anonymous on here - I don't know you, you don't know me. There is no reason for anyone to get that worked up and take things personally. If you are, take a break from the keyboard and do something else.Sorry. Agree regarding unacceptable language. It's no excuse but unjustified accusations of racism rile me.

I never took you for a racist and FWIW, I did not think you told derf to get lost. I have friends who immigrated from SA and became British citizens. They have an equal stake regarding brexit. Derf may carry a British passport....

It's the curse of having an iPhone in your pocket. It's too easy to take a quick look at the forum and dictate a message inbetween doing other things.take a break from the keyboard and do something else.
Well, in the interests of road safety, I hope your not typing as you ride ;-)It's the curse of having an iPhone in your pocket. It's too easy to take a quick look at the forum and dictate a message inbetween doing other things.
That brings back a smile as I remember on one occasion being introduced to a new Company Exec, by the Human Resources Director, and this new worthy asked me my Function in the Corporation. My wish is that in Britain, as in some other countries, we used the title 'Engineer' instead of Mr.
Many doctors do not have doctorates, yet a PhD engineer is plain Mr.
