I know, you don't even speak it. :p
.
No flecc we speak the REAL English (ish)
or if you will "Anglish"
Old English was rhotic as was Middle English. This means that /r/ could come before a consonant or at the end of a word. Non-rhoticity was a later development. There are a few non-rhotic accents in the US and a number of rhotic ones in Great Britian.

Also up until a couple of centuries or so ago "past", "bath", "last", etc. had the same vowel as "cat" for all of English speakers. It remains this way in Scotland and the North of England.

Sithee? :)
ll in fun of course, and seriously dialects are very variable in Yorkshire to the degree that we have Norse influences in coastal areas and Saxon just a few miles inland
EG my old friend from Driffield will occasionally lapse into saying like this one
"Aye, am lynghie as a stane pigtraph!"
Which translates as I'm painfully stiff as a stone pig trough.
And of course there are many words that have similarly meaning like this
English Yorkshire
Retard Reethard Really Hard
What fun!

I reckon May is right when she said a few minutes ago:
  • "There should not be that second referendum," Theresa May told the media.

"The public would expect parliament to vote on the deal. For most people in the UK they want a deal done and want us to get on with focusing more clearly on the issues that matter to them day to day."
Spot on, we are all bored with Brexit, get it done, and get on with running the country.
That is the problem.. getting bored with BREXIt. I could see that level of ennui when I was in Swansea in September, but it is a real mistake. The magnitude of which will become apparent in just 4 months time.

Oh Dear, oh Dear you do realise that you have just caused a repeat of the sort of power outages that happened the day after the referendum with the surge in seaches about the EU.

ennui indeed!, please remember we get leave voters on here and on cold days like this the Main electrical grid is running flat out already!

The sun will still rise the morning after Brexit.

There will be a few daft stories, some which might be entertaining, but nothing much will happen.

Other than a few Remain zealots looking rather stupid.

No need to wait, leave voters are looking stupid already!
For goodness sake wake up and see what is being done in your name.

On the one hand are the May faction who are trying to make a silk purse out of a sows ear, because the realisation has hit them that a No deal Brexit will be disastrous.
Why do you think Gove changed sides.

On the other hand you have the Mogg faction or is it the cast of "last of the Summer Wine doing a Halloween Special"
Who's objective is simply to protect their offshore Bank accounts. And they would be inflated by speculation if the Economy bombs through a no deal Brexit, so a disaster for you is an opportunity for them isn't it?

Tell me this.... when your Brexit dream is going down in flames, who you gonna call?

You are on your own, nobody is batting for your side are they?
You have been mugged in every possible way.

Indeed, it was my lot to be stationed for three years with a majority of Yorkshiremen in a small army detachment. In the middle of Hampshire as it happened, so more at home for me than them. Though a Londoner, I'd previously been living in Bournemouth for eight years, which was in Hampshire back then.

Reminiscent of what Obama said.

Thing is, Trump will be gone soon. Whether by losing an election, reaching two terms, actions of a legal nature, an excess of Big Macs, or in his sleep.

The impact of brexit will continue for years indeed, probably, generations.

Rob you have the right name, well actually BOB (bored on Brexit)....if your words are accurate ‘there should not be that second referendum’ is a soft version of ‘there will not be a second referendum’,perhaps she is considering that may have to be an option, albeit reluctantly.....same as Corbyn, hehe!!!
I thought she might get her deal through but listening to Foster today it’s obvious her deal will get slammed,May needs to start thinking about plan B,her aim must be to keep her job, what is her best option to stay as PM???
I can’t see any other option,other than a people’s vote.
KudosDave

I am amused that the first working day after Brexit will be April 1,enough said!!
Anyone who is in business knows April 1 could be a very stressful day, especially if we crash out without a deal....it only needs one jobsworth French customs officer at Calais, checking paperwork,to bring the whole of freight/couriers to a standstill. There is no possibility that we will be ready to charge Duty on all current zero rated European businesses- I asked HMRC what preparations we should make in the event of no deal, they don’t have a clue. But some bright guy at HMRC decided that April 1 is the day that we have all to make vat returns digitally, what a day to pick.
So who is going to look stupid on April 1? JRM,Davis,Boris and Raab will be on some special conference in Tenerife,be sure that they won’t be available when the ...... hits the fan.
Having said the foregoing I suspect that we will have a 5 year extension to Art 50 or decided to Remain,March 29 seems too close already.
KudosDave
