Brexit, for once some facts.

This is how it should be and all the firms that use tax avoidance should just be charged automatically on a percentage of turnover .
That shouldn't be the only charge. There should be new legislation that requires the identity of a responsible person at the helm of all companies and if that company is found to have avoided or evaded tax, the responsible person should go to jail for 20 years. That responsible person must be the chairman or CEO of the company.

Al Capone was guilty of less than most of these chairmen and CEOs of major companies and international conglomerates today.

They will soon play ball!

Theresa May DANCES onto stage to Abba's Dancing Queen at Tory conference 2018

And the assembled loonies applauded
I'm surprised Boris didn't come onstage at his sideshow to this song

And yes, I know I've shown it before but it's certainly right on the button with Boris

Brexit could still be stopped if warring Conservatives don’t stop fighting, says Theresa May

US groups raise millions to support rightwing UK thinktanks
Anonymous donors have given $5.6m since 2008 to groups linked to four thinktanks
The Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA), the Adam Smith Institute, Policy Exchange and the Legatum Institute have all received financial support from US backers via this route.

The disclosure leaves the thinktanks facing questions as to whether wealthy Americans have undue influence in British politics, particularly over the form Brexit takes.
The UK thinktanks are some of strongest proponents of radical free trade deals with reduced regulation – positions likely to benefit big American businesses, which have opposed Europe’s tighter regulations since the 2008 financial crash.

They have a policy of not disclosing their donors, arguing they respect their backers’ right to privacy unless the backers wish otherwise.

Is that a threat or a promise? (Not that you could believe either.)

In these days of megamillion information leaks from facebook (and many others), of third-degree interrogation of anyone who wants to open a bank account, of having to multiply prove identity to solicitors, accountants, even GPs, just why can these donors expect anonymity? And how can it be achieved?

It is crying out for what could be perceived as an ethical leak.

She probably misunderstood the advice given. They meant she should be drinking Putin's health with a large Dancing Queen in her hand. (A drink made with one part Stolichnaya Oranj and one part cranberry juice. Garnish with lemon.)

So, I ask, what are you going to put in your brexit stockpile?

Tesco could stockpile food after Christmas to prepare for no-deal Brexit

Supermarket CEO warns capacity for storing fresh food for UK would be ‘very, very limited’

Tesco is set to take action after Christmas to fend off food shortages unless the government has cut a Brexit deal that ensures the free flow of goods from Europe.

Dave Lewis, the chief executive of the UK’s biggest supermarket chain, said consumer confidence had already been affected by uncertainty about the details of the country’s new relationship with the EU, prompting Tesco to cut prices and expand its range of cheap foods to tempt shoppers in.

Britain declares CYBER WAR on Russia: Foreign Office vows to 'expose and respond' as it dramatically accuses Putin's GRU of orchestrating a string of attacks around the world
  • Britain has publicly accused Russia’s military intelligence service of carrying out a campaign of reckless and destabilising cyber-attacks across the world
  • Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt said last night the Kremlin had been working in secret to wage indiscriminate and illegal cyber-attacks
  • In a damning charge sheet, the Government has firmly pinned the blame for a string of cyber-attacks on the GRU
This morning the Government began making direct allegations that the GRU had waged Cyber War against Institutions and infrastrucure world wide.
It was also blamed for interfering in elections.

What was noticeable was that the GRU was NOT blamed for any interference in the one thing where it could and most certainly did, effect the most damage to the unity of the West

The EU referendum

The only conclusion possible is that any effect the GRU had
(and other Russian assets in the form of money too)
benefitted the Brexit cause, and as well all know only too well, that means that no criticism will follow.

And we are expected to accept that on the one hand the GRU is a highly profesional organisation with a sinister master plan.

And on the other hand it emulates the sort of attacks made by teenage hacker groups on a random and indiscriminate basis?

So Mr Hunt makes the biggest possible mistake you can possibly make over this for a bit of publicity.

If the GRU are really the threat he makes out.
Rather than making preparations quietly and secretly to negate their efforts
What do we gain by taunting and goading the so obviously (according to him) dangerous bear?

And we get people on here who claim Corbyn is a danger when we had utter fools like Hunt creating situations that can easily get way beyond control?

Things are going badly over Brexit so we get this

Seems quite obvious from where we are now that Russian involvement in the USA wasn't for a specific policy end - but to undermine everything the country can do. Divide the population. Reduce credibility across the globe. It doesn't matter one whit if some of DT's policies are directly antagonistic to Russian interests - the overall effect if what counts.

Similarly, the EU has long been seen to be an enemy of Russia so is obviously going to be a target. And the UK's referendum is the single most visible result. So far.

Top story: Auditors reveal increased EU spending

Hello – it’s Warren Murray rounding up the news this morning.

It will be around £39bn, the government has insisted, but in reality the Brexit “divorce bill” might rise due to tens of billions of euros in spending promises and pension costs racked up by the EU.

Figures released by EU auditors show spending promises hit a record €267bn in 2017, up from €239bn the previous year, and almost twice the size of the EU’s annual budget. In the last decade the EU has spent on big infrastructure projects, such as motorways and bridges, in central and eastern Europe. Also on the rise were EU staff pension liabilities, and development loans to member states and foreign countries.

The EU’s chief negotiator, Michel Barnier, has never endorsed Britain’s claim of a £39bn liability. A senior EU source has previously told the Guardian in 2017 that the UK had signed up to £53bn after the two sides settled the issue last December.

The chosen one? The new film that claims Trump's election was an act of God

Harriet Sherwood in Lynchburg, Virginia

It was, everyone agreed, a miracle. The unexpected election of Donald Trump in 2016 was an act of God, who chose the philandering billionaire and reality TV star to restore America’s moral values.
