We are the World's biggest bunch of mugs if we don't see that we are simply gullible fools to allow ourselves to be treated like a third world nation that can be exploited with ease.
We used to do that with colonies in the Empire, now it's being done to us.
signs of our time, OG.
the whole generation of my children, born in the 80s, the decade when MT dismantled old industries for commerce, management and banking, do all their work entirely with their keyboards and mobile phones. They understand electricity alright but would not replace a broken light switch. They would just buy a new light.

Whatever is said today about free trade, no (or at least low) tariffs, easy movement with minimal non-tariff barriers, will change rapidly the moment anyone is thought to be dumping. Or even claimed to be dumping when they are not.
Brexit economists like Minford don't see manufacturing as important, so they don't need to consider dumping.

So just what do those who cannot work entirely with keyboards and mobile phones do?

Obviously not pick fruit, tend to the sick, or work on bulding sites given what we hear about lack of people able to fulfill those roles due to brexit.

I wonder about that too.
One thing for certain, the rate of increase in obesity, an indicator of the way we live and work, is fast increasing.
I watched 'Trust me, I'm a doctor' last night, they have an interesting chart about obesity in 11 years olds.
The rate used to be around 8%-10% until the group of children born in the 80s, 22%, and in the 2000s 27%.
One in 3 of us is obese now.
I dread to think of my grand children's generation. can half of them become obese?

Have you noticed policemen are getting younger and younger these days?

Wagon wheels getting smaller no white dog poo either.

This country is finished. Finished I say.

Bring back conscription!

Who does this remind you of ??

Another self proclaimed left wing
activist helping to keep Labour out of power. Bone idle pratt. Should be locked up.
Obviously a nut case, but what has this to do with Labour?
how does a self proclaimed Anarchist become in your mind a threat to Labour?
Would a Communist be the same?

Concern for the young people, rather than criticism of them, as I read it.

We really cannot expect 11 year-olds to be fully responsible for their weight, especially if there are factors which are not properly recongised.

Possibly - if the cause is simply feeding them too much and inappropriate food. If that is not the cause, or not the only cause, even that blame might be inappropriate.

However, my response was to the unpleasantly dismissive: tut young people eh?

Which doesn't in any way help in understanding the problem.

Just a few points.
The action by that "Activist", in berating children is utterly to be condemed. Is this not why there are bylaws about harressment, breaking the peace, public nuesance etc.?.
That Mr Moggs might be detestable is not at issue, his children are innocent.
The action of the Mail to include any reference to Piers Corbyn is highly objectionable.. he was not present, he had no bearing on the matter.

My mistake OG, he, s obviously a Tory supporter.
And yes his attitude language and demeanour reminds me very much of 2 posters on here. If the cap fits wear it OG.
But you are right obviously a nut case, much of his ramblings are straight from AAV. Read some of his literature, anti Royal, all those with differing views he calls scum, he can't communicate without insulting.. Now I wonder who that could possibly remind us of..

.. There once was these European Driving Licences .. a little grey booklet available for a small sum from the likes of the AA or RAC, .. I still have one from the 1980s . I assume that Americans and other non EU citizens are still required to have them.
I also recall certain incidents , from the same period r whereby French police or customs fined UK drivers for importing excessive quantities of petrol in their cars.. excessive being above perhaps a quarter tank full.
Any country looking at passports ,will demand that there is sufficient time remaining to cover the duration of the trip and any reasonable time to cover for any delay eg car accidents. Whether an actual passport is currently required by citizens of Europe to pass between EU states ,I am not sure, but certainly official documentation, in the form of national identity card is required. .. I never travel abroad, including the uk without my passport.
