Brexit, for once some facts.

I suspect they already are. A city, county or country which wants the employment and investment these companies can provide is already very much over the barrel before they arrive. Once they are there, even more so.
Yes, I agree and see it as part of the old adage that 'Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely', frequently attributed to Lord Acton in a letter he wrote in 1887.

The news today has the fact that 'Amazon' has now emulated the recent announcement that 'Apple' is worth over $1tn.

I wonder if there is any danger of them paying their taxes properly any time soon!

Not a chance!

With respect. You’re either a scared old man or have business interests.

Give our Young’uns the chance to reach across the globe. The world doesn’t end in Poland.
Comedy award of the Day.
Reach across the Globe?? Oh Dear
Did you mean they will emigrate to far away places looking for work?
If you find yourself "Reaching" make a dash to the toilet.

Our "Young 'uns" are more liable to decamp to the EU (if they can get permits) to go where the work is and Brexit makes that harder for them to do.

Most of the rest of the world has no reason to look kindly on us after they way we treated them, perhaps you should read some History?

Is this really supposed to represent something convincing that Brexit is a good idea?
Good joke.

Here is what the Government will try,

Find a country where the Chinese and EU haven't got in first.
Bribe some officials there to agree to a trade deal say for cheap cars
Because no one here will invest and in any case are incompetent to run such a business.
Bribe a Chinese/ Tiger economy company to set up here with grants and Tax concessions to exploit it and accept that they will rip us off, but it kids the voters, and that's what matters.
And by the way they will want us to drop restrictions on immigrant workers from there too (as per the usual arrangement)

The snag with this type of arrangement is that you end up being "owned" by Foreigners, and you Brexit fans are supposed to be all for "Taking Back control" aren't you?

I though we had done this already?
Ah yeah!....but.....as Herr Goebbels once said, 'You can never have too much propaganda!'

His theory was that if you told a lie, a really big lie, and told it often enough, the masses would come to believe it implicitly. The tories and their friends who own the propaganda houses media factories, have been practising just such a method for decades and have become incredibly proficient at it.

Rhetoric such as May's pontifications is the only tool available to such a hapless and incompetent PM and government.

Beautiful explanation OG and if I had a crystal ball, (there's a story there somewhere), I'd say you are incredibly close to the truth with your description of events.

As one who likes to read what we have come to know as 'conspiracy theories', I enjoyed reading the 'Vox Political' take on the latest news about the Salisbury and Amesbury poisoning cases.

You can have a read here:

https://voxpoliticalonline.com/2018/09/06/shredded-mays-claim-that-russian-secret-agents-committed-salisbury-and-amesbury-poisonings/

Tom
As I've posted before, the whole case against Russia is a setup by the UK for political reasons. Not for the first time either.

Fans of Nigel Farage, or indeed anyone who remembers Nigel Farage, will be delighted to know he is touring Australia with his one-man show and playing to packed houses everywhere he goes........oh, actually I misread that in my haste! Apparently, it's not going as well as the mouth on a stick would like but you can check it out for yourself on this link:

I though this rather amusing about the Governments emergency planning
From the independent
"
A secret Treasury document has raised questions about “rail access to the EU” after a no-deal Brexit.

The document – snapped as it was carried into a Whitehall meeting – also reveals that Philip Hammond’s department has codenamed its contingency planning “Operation Yellowhammer”.

"Operation Yellowhammer is being overseen by the Civil Contingencies Secretariat, which is usually responsible for coping with emergencies such as floods and disease outbreaks.
And virulent Brexit poisoning of the body politic?

I suggest if they needed an appropriate name of a Finch a better fit would have been either Operation "Blue Tit" or "Great Tit"

Rather belatedly but inevitably, more and more groups of people are beginning to understand that 'Brexit' is never going to produce the new 'Shangri La' promised by the lying charlatans who led the war cries, inciting the politically and economically unsophisticated into the mistaken belief that exiting the EU was the future.

Now, it's the farmers who are worried:
