Wanna tell that to the parents of the two English lads from Warrington that they slaughtered.......Eh??
Yeah, lets have a `protest against oppression`
So this is your kind of `protest` flecc??
Very Unionist responses! Unionist verbal agression doesn't work in the UK mainland Tommie.

I'm old enough to know the disgraceful way that N.I Catholics were treated by Unionists prior to the 1970s, and the fact that the British Army was sent in to protect them from Unionists.

Your predecessors shouldn't have started something they couldn't finish.

I can't believe the Daily Express prints this article. It's so far from their usual fighting talk:

https://www.express.co.uk/news/politics/1011205/brexit-news-eu-brexit-talks-negotiations-no-deal-brexit-theresa-may-dominic-raab-barnier

"Ultimately, using bolshy, potentially irritating tactics and throwing around a perceived position of strength could be detrimental for the UK.

There should be less talk of a ‘no-deal’ and more talk of how the UK can negotiate successfully on key and complex points to reach a conclusion that is beneficial for both parties.

After all, this is a negotiation, not an argument.”

I agree with 95% of that 'flecc' but I'm really not having the bit about 'the 1070s'! :D

Speaking of pink tories within the Labour ranks, as I did in post #34929, the long streak of p, Lord Adonis, has this to say today about the WTO, so favoured by many 'Brexidiots', indeed, also by at least one contributor to these pages:

The web blog, 'Brexit exposed', added this:

'The Brexiteers’ best ‘friend’ has just pulled the rug under Brexiteers’ best ‘idea’, the WTO.

The Leavers didn’t have a plan in the first place. Now they don’t even have the ‘plan’ they claimed replaced the lack of a plan.

It’s so stupid it’s almost funny'

On a lighter note, John McDonnell, Labour's shadow chancellor,
Unknown.jpeg
had this to say on receiving a telephone call from someone claiming to be a journalist:

I got a phone call from someone saying, "I'm a journalist from the Sun....." at which point, I interrupted him and pointed out, "Look, you can be one or the other but you can't be both!"

I couldn't argue with McDonnell's point on that one!

Fascinating, if they subscribe to this belief, why then do so many Nations prepare for their Defence or even war against America?

The answer is of course that these people regard them as corrupt and while they certainly are powerful, they are sadly lacking in Humanity.

Power doesn't in the long run guarantee peace, as the Roman Empire found out.
Only refusing to abuse power for political gain does that.

Here we have the defeat being presented as a Victory to sell it to the plebs
In the Express
"
BREXIT BREAKTHROUGH: Theresa May to have Brexit deal ‘DONE and DUSTED by October’
MINISTERS are “stubbornly optimistic” that an ambitious Brexit deal is within reach and can be “done and dusted” by October.
The new optimism came after productive talks between Brexit Secretary Dominic Raab and EU chief negotiator Michel Barnier, saw Brussels make significant concessions on a number of areas including security and the Galileo project.
It follows reports that French President Emmanuel Macron has performed a U-turn on his approach to Brexit and started pushing for compromise as other member states have begun to fear the consequences of a “no deal” which could cost the EU £500 billion..

The reader's comments are at this point entirely hostile to anything other than leave with no deal at all!

Really?
"
BREXIT BOMBSHELL: Barnier steps up EU's offer of Galileo access replicating closest allies
EUROPEAN Union negotiator Michel Barnier has extended an offer of Galileo access to Britain which will rival the third country agreements with Norway and the United States, after Brexit.

That wasn't what we wanted was it? we demanded full Military level access

So much for the Brexit Bombshell

And this?
"
Brexit time scandal: EU's 'Berlin time' plot may create TIME BORDER between Belfast and UK
EUROPEAN Union bosses could create a time border between Northern Ireland and Great Britain by forcing Belfast to adhere to a Brussels directive to abolish changing the clocks in the winter.

You have got t be joking! where is the "Scandal" here?

........as predicted in these pages eons ago.

We shouldn't be surprised, of course, as that is exactly what a propaganda department is for and with total control over media output.....well, George Orwell foresaw exactly this kind of development when he first imagined then put into print his novel, 1984.

The UK is now the Oceania from that story and the ruling party, then the Ingsoc, now the tories, wields total power over the people just because it can. The abuse and misuse of power is the stock in trade of such rulers.

This morning, the Guardian reports on one possible consequence of tax avoidance. Now I wonder who could be affected by this?

UK tax avoiders face being blocked from honours list

Vetting process to minimise risk from candidates ‘have behaved in ways likely to bring the system into disrepute’

Tax avoiders face being shunned for honours such as knighthoods as authorities clamp down on rewarding those with “poor” financial behaviour.

HM Revenue and Customs has been alerting the Cabinet Office to individuals involved in controversial tax schemes, with a memorandum of understanding obtained by the Times saying “poor tax behaviour is not consistent with the award of an honour”.

The report said medium risk includes those whose tax affairs would be “likely to cause adverse comment”, such as “participating in one or more avoidance schemes”.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2018/sep/01/uk-tax-avoiders-face-being-blocked-from-honours-list

They then undermine it all by applying a time limit.

A time limit of three years is said to be in place, meaning candidates can be cleared to receive an honour if they abandon avoidance schemes.

As most honours are received in later life, it seems that it is fine to make your fortune while paying the minimum possible tax. As you age, make sure that the tax avoiding side is reduced - maybe you sell off the company and stash the proceeds? - then wait for the honour to come your way.

All the while pretending that your support of brexit is not for personal gain.
