Exactly, what on earth possessed her to think she could. The EU had long ago made clear that couldn't happen and when David Cameron tried it with a tour around Europe, the leaders all rebuffed him.

Norway it is then, we can't afford anything more.

agreed. I already feel poorer after two years of brexit phoney war.
The Pound is worth much less now - $1.27, 1.1 Euros.

Exactly, what on earth possessed her to think she could.
The fact that she is stubborn, difficult and has no capacity whatsoever to take advice.

It’s a hopeless situation, because who is there to replace her? We are stuck with the dregs of the political system, because the current dregs aren’t quite as bad as the alternative dregs.

the conservatives are seen as the party for brexit, their opposition is divided.
As there were roughly 51% of voters for brexit, it's expected that they were going to form the 2017 government. Although I had hoped that they'd lose their majority, I was nevertheless amazed when the result came it. The PCP has no other choice than to deliver brexit. In a way, that could have been what TM meant by 'brexit is brexit', ie, I'll give you brexit, but don't ask me what brexit it is going to be, you may not like it. If it turns out to be a dog's dinner, then it's still 'brexit is brexit'. There is a price to pay for brexit, both in severance and in loss of future earnings. The real problem for the conservative party is Cameron bought himself a majority in 2015 and it's only now the the cost becomes clear: their party may split, the right wing will merge with UKIP, the rest will become a 'compassionate conservative party', much more inclusive, much more practical and who knows, may even merge with the LibDems. Now that's a centre party I can vote for.

Only a government that gets us back into the EU will get my vote, I refuse to be a party to this stupidity called brexit, no matter what obscene form it takes.

look around. Which one can you vote for?
LibDems? Greens? Monster Raving Loonies? they don't even have a policy on brexit.
If the conservatives split, then the centre leaning conservatives are likely to rejoin the EU.

His constituency, Uxbridge & S. Ruislip, neighboured my patch for 25 years and I can tell you that a great many of the local residents there probably don't even know he went to Afghanistan, indeed many of them probably don't know the name of their MP!

BTW, were you able to view the video clip in post #34347? OG reckons it jumps all over the place but it works fine when I view it.

There is of course the point that the media have engaged in the mother of all character assassinations where Corbyn is concerned, to the point where he should be saying to the press"you don't like my attitude to the Jews? Tough! My job is to try and get elected to govern the country. Not to get distracted by your politically motivated smoke screen
