Cummings laments about the brexiteers (BJ, DD, Liam Fox), not brexit itself.Would this be the same Dominic Cummings who said these things recently?
Not quite true, as he expected radical changes to the economy, education, and the Parliamentary system would be needed as well.Cummings laments about the brexiteers (BJ, DD, Liam Fox), not brexit itself.
He reckons he handed his famous victory to the idiots who made a pigs ear of it.
these things are his wishes, he is not naive in assuming that they are going to happen quickly. He relies on BJ and Gove to be his mouthpieces and in this, he was unlucky with BJ because BJ attracts ridicule. Not quite true, as he expected radical changes to the economy, education, and the Parliamentary system would be needed as well.
There is not and never will be a set of circumstances where Brexit will do more than disadvantage the poor to favour the rich.these things are his wishes, he is not naive in assuming that they are going to happen quickly. If you add other noises from Farage, IDS and Frank Field, there is no simple way to keep brexit simple, easy to explain.
To make brexit work, the key is to manage divergence. Starting from where we are, fix the skill shortage first while staying in the SM.
He'll be back with any luck!I wonder what Tillson would make of the forum these days. It's been a while since he passed any comment in these pages.
Tom
That is a pretty good summary of the whole damned affair. It's the wet dream of a bunch of multi-millionaires.Brexit is easy to explain.
.Dumb idea.
Of if you prefer "Wishful thinking"
Or how about "A plot to protect offshore bank accounts from EU laws?"
Take your pick.
But it does hold a pair of jokers.I can understand why DD wants to quit. He is not going to win any prizes in the negotiations with the EU because the UK does not hold all the cards like some brexiteers like to boast.
If he does go, who do you think should replace him?
Amber Rudd or BJ?
Give it to Lord Nigel, time he did some more damage to his personal reputation and the leave cause!I can understand why DD wants to quit. He is not going to win any prizes in the negotiations with the EU because the UK does not hold all the cards like some brexiteers like to boast.

it's a bit of a witch hunt."His decision not to come, whatever he says, is one of his own making, it's a deliberate attempt to deny parliament its right to question witnesses on matters of importance."
Who knows? They may even understand what was done, and there were definitely witches at work to hunt in this caseit's a bit of a witch hunt.
He used technology to benefit his campaign which worked rather well.
You should read his remarks on the use of IT in electioneering and leave the matter of whether he has committed any crime to the police.
So he has been ordered but decided not to come, doesn’t he have to come, or does ordered mean something different? From the Independent
"
One of the key figures behind the main Brexit campaign has been ordered to appear before a Commons inquiry into the Facebook data row, in a rare show of parliamentary strength.
"His decision not to come, whatever he says, is one of his own making, it's a deliberate attempt to deny parliament its right to question witnesses on matters of importance."
In my book, a parliament which does not have the power to summon almost anyone and impose sanctions (which could include fines, imprisonment, loss of citizenship, and others) is hardly likely to be recognised as sovereign, is it?So he has been ordered but decided not to come, doesn’t he have to come, or does ordered mean something different?
I have seen these kinds of enquiries show boating at the expense of the person attending, most of the time for the members or media benefit, and to the pain of the person attending, even if the summoned person did wrong, I can’t see why anyone would go voluntarily, it’s like volunteering to go to the head master for a severe ticking off, even if you think you have done nothing wrong.
And the way the data was obtained by questionable means and used to influence people by isolating and exploting their preferences and vulnerabilities, without their knowledge and permission by feeding them lies is all fair in love and war?Cummings developed the VICS to target ads more effectively. That software lets him track the progress and effectiveness of his ad spending and message contents. It's just a more intelligent use of resource. I do same with my google adwords and website traffic analyser. He may have overspent, or may not, who knows, it's the job for the police. He wasn't even the chief liar. That job went to Gove and Johnson. The fact remains that his messages were effective and the campaign well run. If he happens to be a later days Jedi and converted a few suggestible people then all is fair in love and war.
Having read that link, it appears that parliament is reluctant to use powers, it used to have in the past, in case it’s found out that they don’t have the power anymore, it may breach the ECHRIn my book, a parliament which does not have the power to summon almost anyone and impose sanctions (which could include fines, imprisonment, loss of citizenship, and others) is hardly likely to be recognised as sovereign, is it?
(Of course, they can be arguments about summoning members of the judiciary and others for whom constitutional issues could be raised.)
If you, I, or cummings raise two fingers to parliament, we are annointing ourselves as being above the will of parliament. Which rather gets us back to the arguments about the UK regaining full sovereignty, and why brexit, does it not?

we don't know if Cummings has access to the data itself or like me, I have only specified the criteria and google show my ad to the people who fit the profile. It can be quite different from the legal work done for UKIP by Aggregate IQ. There, the data was owned by UKIP. Whether Aggregate IQ uses the UKIP data for Cummings contract is up to the police to find out.And the way the data was obtained by questionable means
