As for WMD I believe that was more to do with Blair lying to us..

It is ironic that Brexit is at the point of no return, yet the Salisbury poisoning suggests that we need to be closer to Europe,we need the might of combined Europe/UK to stand up to Putin.
If Brexit wasnt happening I think Europe would be looking at the UK as a fellow member state in need, this wont be the last such event.
Maybe closer ties with Europe is no bad thing,I suspect the population of Salisbury would vote Remain now.
KudosDave
To have a chance of standing up to the many large nations and multinational organisations which dwarf many medium and smaller nations, we need to have close ties with others. Of course, the EU isn't in five minutes going to address and resolve all the issues, but on our own we stand precious little chance of doing so.

Just for info.
The actual existence of novichok ( poison used in Salisbury) is questionable. Its thought to be around 10 times more potent than VX or Sarin but circumvents outlawed status by being made from agrochemicals..( ie none of its constituents are banned). Plus Russia has refused to disclose the exact formulation or supply the chemical for analysis. America has similar products and have ( alledgedly) destroyed all their stocks. Russia claim to have done same...oh what a lovely world we live in !!

Likewise Britain at Porton Down where I've no doubt we produce all of them experimentally. I've had duties within Porton Down's CDEE* and MRE**, but not in the innermost core which has the highest security of all. They're now known as the Ministry of Defence's Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl).

* Chemical Defence Experimental Establishment.

** Microbiological Research Establishment.

Chemical and germ warfare in other words, as you say, what a lovely world.

I was under the impression that rather than one substance, novichok actually applied to a family of substances?

Programme about Russia/ Putin on BBC1 now...
OG will be saying dont believe it...!
I listened to Corbyn in HoC and he said more than is suggested ...it was also his lines of questioning...his own , normally supportive MPs , were quite obviously not happy with him.
You are being stupid again OG..These are the reasons Corbyn isn't in power.
In times of crisis he should have supported govt without accusing Putin ( if he thinks he,s innocent) Yvette Cooper spoke very well.

Yes, but what a pity they used the unstable John Sweeney as the reporter.

I've found it difficult to accept him as credible since his hysterical complete loss of control when interviewing a representative of Scientology.

You do say the funniest things!

So a substance having as you describe it a "Questionable existence" that is allegedly 10 times more potent than VX or Sarin which apparently kill within minutes, merely disabled two people into a comatose state.
that doesn't sound like the effects of a Military Grade of the Nerve agent, more like a weak clone.
Then there is the interesting fact that it is actually a concoction from Agri chemicals that are not banned per se.
So all you need is the formula
And it wouldn't be the first time that Nerve agents have been formulated by terrorists, as in Japan. And used in a Public attack.

And on such flimsy evidence the guilty party has been decided on
Not good enough

You apparently heard a speech he didn't make (as you usually do)
As to his Mp's not supporting him, they have history of not daring to take sides when there is a threat where they could appear "unpatriotic" no matter how foolish that action might be, as with Iraq.
About Russia, I'm not really interested, we have real problems to deal with not manufactured crises to divert attention.
And do try to dispense with the name calling, you were after all the one who came on here to "Drain the Swamp" only to become the biggest Alligator.
And once again, I am not interested in Corbyn becoming Prime Minister, unless he is prepared to cancel Brexit.
Is that clear?

while the BBC is busy with the Russian story, do you know that TM has agreed terms with the EU on the transition deal ahead of EU27 meeting tomorrow?

How very convenient it proved, didn't it?
