that is not true.
it is more likely that the EU will come in due course to accept our point of view regarding the divorce bill, that is we pay what is legally owed. The compromise will be EFTA style payment to the EU budget for years to come.

You do realise that you have just revealed to our fan club at Menwith Hill that you are using a "Touch sensitive Device"
They will track you for the rest of your days now.
Be afraid, "The Fat fingers have Ears"
You can withdraw and change the comment by the way just press "undo rating" on the right and try again.

So you can, learn something new every day. Not difficult, plenty of space which is the only Reason I suffer here - you and I both?

If I am going to be mugged, I don't intend to be, then I would rather it be by smooth talk than a thug.just wishing to redistribute my hard earned bank balance.

The statement: By Barnier

"‘There are extremely serious consequences of leaving the single market and it hasn’t been explained to the British people,’ he told a conference in Italy. ‘We intend to teach people… what leaving the single market means.’

How do we know?
The event takes place behind closed doors. But parts of it were publicised by a BBC reporter who was attending.

And of course he couldn't possibly have embellished it in any way

in other words hearsay printed as an official position.

The Headline in the Daily Mail
Who does he think he is? Brussels' arrogant Brexit chief vows to 'educate' the British and 'teach them what it means to leave the EU'
  • EU negotiator Michel Barnier has threatened to teach Britain a lesson for leaving
  • Tory MPs branded him 'patronising and arrogant' and said the EU is panicking
  • Davis denied PM would say in October she would pay £50bn over three years
  • He accused EU negotiator of 'silly' tactics to secure a higher UK settlement

Vows, threatened, patronising and arrogant, panicking silly.

A lot of adjectives to describe an unsubstantiated report don't you think?

And in any case Events will educate the British on the costs of leaving the EU, so Barnier needn't bother.

Indeed and more so the exchanges on a park bench with Dudley Moore and Peter Cook. Probably, the basis for everything I knew at the time. Better than any University education!

It did and yes there will be phases of progress and reverse in the formation of the United States of Europe.
Now that we have thrown in the towel and no longer can help mould it in a direction we desire, it's just a matter of hoping that we don't end up as Cuba did being parked right next to the US of A.
Would be good for tourism with everyone coming across to see our old buildings and diesel cars. Just as well we have the National Trust and all these old heritary titled people's to guide them around.

Barnier not doing himself favours saying he,s going to educate UK, the one thing Anglo Saxons dont need is lessons in arguing..ask OG ????
I'll take that as a compliment from an Expert, we only differ in that my arguments always go in the same direction, and lack the ability to attack without warning from several conflicting directions at once, using Stealth Mode.
Good morning to you.

What next for the EU

Some link, hope it works, good read
he started well but finished incoherently.
The EU, as the US of E, will be successful, so will the UK and other EFTA countries.

You have just made one of those fundamental observations on the Human Experience of life.

I stand in awe (and guilty as charged)
put Zlatan down as another one too, he came to drain the swamp and developed a lifelong passion for the Alligators.

Now reminded that Cuba is held in high regard by the left as being a model for what can be achieved by Socialism.

Just a simple question really why aren't we now then? we are running out of room on the deck for the Band and seats as the Titanic goes down, and to make matters worse the Captain has just changed course in the hope of reaching the Bahamas.

They must be doing something good if the US couldn't crush them completely, to survive against those odds is quite remarkable.

Perhaps, reminds me of our own Bulldog spirit, we too will survive and probably do rather well and better than our bigger neighbours
