I'll have a look around and get back to you. I'll see if any Yamaha bikes fit my needs. If you were starting from scratch with a £1,600 budget what would you buy?

It is looking like a 500 wh Bosch bike will get closer to the £1,600 price point, although I've not seen one yet, plenty of 400 wh battery bikes about. I'd go for a hybrid over an MTB myself though, and 500 wh if possible.cube hard tail with a bosch motor cx and 500w batt and 2 year warranty.
No stock, but exactly the sort of bike I'd buy.
i thought it was in stock when i looked lol. next one up is 1800 but only has the 400w batt.Indeed, they have just sold out.
Thanks Steve I'll probably stick to the BBS01B For legal reasons and the fact that trex explained that the 02 too powerful for hub gears. Is the BBS01B around the same price?£1600 will get you a BBS02 and battery with circa £900 left to buy the donor bike...you're spoilt for choice with that to spend
Funny you should mention this.Don't forget about bikes with the Bafang Max Drive. There's a few bikes appearing with that motor now. I've recently seen one from Freego. Loads on Aliexpress. Remember, it beat the Bosch and everything else in the endurance race.

There are hub gears then there is Rohloff... 150 Nm of torque allowed so it will handle a BBS02.the BBS02 is too powerful for hub gears, even for the 3-speed SRAM.
you have to have derailleur.
Hi ArtstuThis should be of interest, here's some Strava stats comparing the development Juicy bike with the Roller motor system compared to my old classic Bosch bike.
I did my first run on the Juicy, and second run back up on my bike, despite being tired from the first run I was 2:24 faster on my bike, I didn't find the Juicy bike enjoyable to ride in the way my bike is.

But, all Chinese controllers have a 'speed limit enable' wire, which needs to be connected to function. Mine always become 'broken' in some way, which allows the motor to continue assist up to around 18mph on a 250w system.German controllers are usually better programmed, giving a smooth reduction of power whilst Chinese controllers tend to just cut the power.
