    Bafang Max Drive bikes

I do like the bike, but would still prefer a decent quality bike with a BBS01 on myself. The Greenway Cross MaxDrive would make a great commuter tool. Even in the sub £1500 category, I'd still think it's worth every penny. A slightly larger battery would be good. Better forks and hubs would be...

    Bafang Max Drive bikes

Agree, it doesn't seem to be their forte, that appears to be cheap and slightly cheerful (throw away bikes) at the £200 price point.

    Bafang Max Drive bikes

They've been around for a little while now I think. Yes, I appreciate some companies are not able to work with the arrangement. It needs to be made simple and easy work with in order to incentivise people/companies to use it. Possibilities in the future hopefully.

    Bafang Max Drive bikes

Whole bike samples from China seem to come in about the same if not higher than the Greenway bike (for similar spec). Even on MOQ of 10 there's not much in it, is there? Which is why, I think many of us here, are confused by the bargain basement price of what is a desirable product. Defo agree...

Sherlock - Anti-theft gps tracker with gsm for bikes

Sounds about right, although my mobile struggles to half a day usage with full gps on :( Sent using this crappy tapatalk app. that has such poor functionality I can't even click 'like'!

Sherlock - Anti-theft gps tracker with gsm for bikes

Yes ESD, you're absolutely right. Think I'm on a technology overload right now. A quality D-lock or suchlike, park in busy place, ideally with obvious cctv as additional deterrent and hope there's a better bike nearby with a lesser lock. Sent using this crappy tapatalk app. that has such poor...

Sherlock - Anti-theft gps tracker with gsm for bikes

Yes, but would they just smash the thing first? Or learn it's weak spot and disable it? So then perhaps booby trap them with that really stinky liquid spray that is nigh on impossible to get rid of? Then they'd put a bag or something over it before they smash it. I think concealed is the way...

Sherlock - Anti-theft gps tracker with gsm for bikes

PAYG mobile costs with data aren't too much, topping up now and again, plus depending on the deal can roll over into future months. I had a half decent alarm on one of my old ebikes, with a remote 'blipper' to arm it. Ran on 36V which was handy. Pretty basic but did the job. That said, I seldom...

    Bafang Max Drive bikes

Ah yes, with a Nuvinci. I might be popping one of them on the greenway to see what it's like with the max drive :) Sent from here to there with computer wizardry.

Lol. Ok, you go first and I promise I'll go first after. A little more research will provide the answer. I can't think what else it could be? Anyone? Sent from here to there with computer wizardry.

Agree. My money's on the red/yellow/ green multi. It would correlate looking at what else is there and where the others go. Sent from here to there with computer wizardry.

    BBS02 motor drag- normal?

A mate's BBS02 750W felt stiffer than any others I've seen, a little grease on the secondary drive definitely improved it rather than increasing resistance and bogging it down further. Sent from here to there with computer wizardry.

The main wire loom looks remarkably similar to that of the BBSxx motors (as does the motor itself save controller position), so it's possible somebody will 'hotrod' one in the future. Depends if the controller has the capability? It all highlights in the prog. software. Could the...

Sherlock - Anti-theft gps tracker with gsm for bikes

These have been around for while in a number of different guises, but not always that effective in real world usage. This one is due to launch sometime in 2017 and looks neat. https://www.sherlock.bike/en/home/ Sent from here to there with computer wizardry.

    BBS02 motor drag- normal?

I see. It may free up a little with use, but will always back pedal easier as it's just a freewheel ratchet opposed to moving the gear cogs. A little mobilgrease28 or similar in the secondary drive gear (easily accessed beneath the cover behind the chainring) may help? Hope you sort it easily...

    BBS02 motor drag- normal?

There should only be very minimal drag compared to a normal BB. Not really noticeable difference when riding. Is there the same resistance if you remove the chain from the chainring and rotate the cranks? Had this issue once, but transpired to be a seized jockey wheel causing the drag, could...

Lekkie have some 52 tooth rings out soon, might try a top end test down a quiet hill with one, and see how long my nerve lasts. A shade over 2 pedal rotations a second should take it to 50mph if I don't bottle it or cash! [emoji33] ....maybe not! Sent from here to there with computer wizardry.
