    Haibike or Riese and Muller?

R&M are excellent quality, but bike style and spec, rather than brand, is more important. There's nothing wrong with a Haibike, I would happily run one if it was the spec I wanted. Both brands will have the UK legal Bosch motor, so you won't be keeping up with the fast roadies unless you...

looking for a rohloff, belt drive, pedelec

The OP might get one delivered in the first week of September, but general experience of new model year bikes suggest the date will likely slip, even into 2018. Getting a 2017 chain bike at this time of year may also not be simple as production is concentrated on new models. What's needed here...

looking for a rohloff, belt drive, pedelec

There are things for and against a belt drive. I suspect the Rohloff/belt bike will not support a quick release, which is a pity because having a quick release is one of the benefits of the Rohloff hub. The belt needs high tension, and as far as I'm aware Rohloff do not offer belt sprockets...

    Batribike Breeze, low geared...help..

A dinner plate chainwheel may impact the fold, so a smaller cassette on the back is the safer option.

eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

I see Strava gives a maximum incline of 145% - did you do a few back flips on the way up? Which is nothing compared to the steepest decline of 500%+, at which point you were presumably upside down.

Towbar cycle carriers suitable for heavy bike

Carrying the ebike inboard would be worthwhile. Bear in mind some ebikes on racks don't respond well to adverse weather.

    Disappointed in Scott

Sounds good. although the dealer looks pretty ineffectual. Were I onbike, I might be inquiring firmly of Scott as to why they made me look stupid by not coming up with the part number for such a simple component.

An Orbea Katu is worth a look. Either a Bosch crank drive or a cheaper front hub. https://www.orbea.com/gb-en/ebikes/urban/katu-e

    Buying my first e-bike

The original Classic motor had a standard chain ring, so Bosch is going back to the future there. Twin batteries (I have one of those) better battery integration and the like is largely window dressing. The key pedal assist experience remains largely unaltered in eight years. In that respect...

    Buying my first e-bike

Don't expect to see much development in just a year. The Bosch system was launched in 2009/10, the motors are effectively still the same, but there's now a bigger battery. So in about eight years we've gained 100wh of battery capacity.

Lack of full suspension tour bikes

Unlikely you will find a Delite Rohloff to test. It's a £6K bike which sells, probably not even in the 10s nationally, so no dealer can sensibly afford to run one as a demo. There will be few, if any, in dealer stock, and if you were allowed to test one of those there's the old argument about...

Looking for a reliable mid range eBike

The style of bike has nothing to do with the 'e' bit, it's what you prefer. If, when you rode pushbikes, you liked mudguards and a rack, that's what you want on the ebike. There's not much in the mainstream brands quality-wise, all are decent. Some problems with the Impulse motor on...

    Disappointed in Scott

In the right place. Responding to every thread by saying 'buy a woosh' becomes counter-productive. At one time on here, trade members were obliged to keep their replies relevant.

    Grateful for some advice please

By 'slight' you may mean relatively weak, hence your request for power. However, slight also means light, which will stand you in very good stead on any ebike. In other words, even one that isn't that powerful will fly along with you on it. Another point to bear in mind is there isn't a great...

    Disappointed in Scott

Not very encoraging given that you did the 'right' thing, buying a reputable make of bike from a reputable dealer. No doubt woosh will be along in a minute to tell us how easy it is to get spare mudguards for his bikes.

Lack of full suspension tour bikes

I've tried a R&M full-sus tourer and the proposition works in a couple of ways. Comfort is far superior to a rigid bicycle, a sus seat post is not a substitute, even a poor one. Roadholding on the full-sus is superior, the bike isn't thrown off line by potholes and undulations like a rigid...

    Buying my first e-bike

Some bike racks require a grip on the cross bar. If the bike is a step though, you have to fit a dummy cross bar to mount the bike to the rack. Not a big problem, but it is extra faff. The biggest battery available on Bosch bikes is 500wh, which is going to be a bit tight for 50 miles...

Conversion kit lessons learned after first month/250miles

Barrelling along at 40+mph on what is obviously an ebike may attract official attention. The laws are not widely understood, but increasingly people grasp the 15.5mph motor cut off, if not all the rest of it.
