    Lockdown

As I said, we will have to agree to disagree. I’m sorry if I made the assumption that you seem to know more than all of the UK authorities on how to combat a new world threat.

Bosch Motor shutdown, Error 503, get you home only.

The fact of what he did is irrelevant He knackered up the software. If this is not possible on a hub motor then there must be other things that a customer can bodge that you would be unhappy to put right for free. I understand why you prefer making bikes with hub motors because I repair...

    Lockdown

I’m sorry but I think you have rather a high opinion of you own decision making and can’t align with your opinion that everything that the government do is wrong so we will have to agree to disagree. I only hope that we are all still here in the future to argue about Pedelecs.

    Lockdown

I’ve just been watching a live Parliamentary broadcast on Emergency Police Powers. They questioned police forces around the country and I didn’t think that any of them were overusing their powers. The main problem areas seem to be groups (two or more) of people sunbathing and drinking in parks...

Bosch Motor shutdown, Error 503, get you home only.

But Bosch has put out warnings against using the speed sensor. I want him to stop moaning about Bosch not wanting to cover his mistakes. I suspect that you would react the same as Bosch if I purchased a new hub motor from you then fiddled with it and broke it then expected you to pay for all...

    Lockdown

It’s a bit strong calling this a “blanket punishment” when it’s about saving your life. Feel free to wander about at will but I won’t be anywhere near you. Actually there is more than one relief that people can get and the other one is death.

Bosch Motor shutdown, Error 503, get you home only.

So if I replaced the back wheel with a propellor and made a jet ski out of it would you still expect Bosch to honour the warranty? I can’t think of any item where messing about and altering it doesn’t void a warranty. Also applies to hub motors

    Lockdown

I think that a lot of people on this forum are giving the general public more credit than they deserve for being conscientious citizens. I’ve had people passing me on my bike within a couple of feet, in both directions. Today in Aldi people were brushing passed me in the aisles, there were no...

    Incorrect speed readings issue (Bosch)

Not with it registering the correct speed.

    Deluded. I give up.

Keep quiet, don't tell my wife!

Andy-Mat, in this post and many others you seem to have an obsession with rubbishing Bosch motors. I believe that you have no experience with Bosch motors and are just repeating what you have read, possibly from the Daily Mail or Sun. It’s well known that for every good report of anything there...

    Incorrect speed readings issue (Bosch)

Don’t go more than 10 mph and it will be ok.

Putting e-bike to bed for the duration of C-virus.

I remember seeing a lobster taken out of a tank in a posh London restaurant and dropped into boiling water. I’ve also seen how a British farmer kills chickens for the table, don’t think he anaesthetised it.

    Ebikes

Yes it’s not nice reading is it. Certainly not why I read this forum. Perhaps under the present circumstances we should be coming up with more constructive and informative posts, especially as we are mostly confined for the foreseeable future.

Putting e-bike to bed for the duration of C-virus.

Don’t forget that the Corona virus deaths are in addition to the usual deaths from road accidents, heart failures, flu etc. If you had an accident on your 50mph bike and needed an intensive care bed that wasn’t available then perhaps your view of the crisis would change. Or perhaps not.

    Mid motor vs Hub motor.

I can well understand that and it must be galling when people buy such kits and then come to companies like yours to bale them out. I suppose this does not happen with crank drives as generally people have to buy them from dealers who one hopes are going to provide some backup. But this does...

    Mid motor vs Hub motor.

I didn’t actually say that issues were due to tweaking. What I said was that most of the problems on this forum related to hub motors, controllers and batteries for whatever reason. You may or may not agree with the 75% bit, this was just a figure based on my impression. My post was mainly in...

    GPS tracker

No, the insurance company paid me the full amount for the stolen bike which I used to purchase a new bike. Two months later, after a tip off, I found the bike advertised in a local Cash Converters and went there with the police, who I may add were brilliant with concern and keeping me updated...

    Mid motor vs Hub motor.

Andy, I have noticed that in this and several other posts you have made it very clear, in a condescending way that you don’t like Bosch mid drives, for whatever reason, so I would like to present my experience. Myself and two friends have owned Bosch mid drives for just over three years...

    GPS tracker

When my £2600 Trek was stolen a bloke bought it, he told the police, for £600. He then sold it to Cash Converters for £1000. They had it on sale for £1650 when I reclaimed it. I had already been paid out in full by the insurance company but offered them £500 for the bike, which they accepted.
