Who is Liable to Exceeding 15.5 mph on an E Bike

It is the rider that gets the sharp end of the stick, as you say but in order for you to understand more, if I am remembering correctly, it was very simple for someone to derestrict the speed limit on the bike and so pressure was put on at least Bosch to make it harder for this to happen. Hence...

Which is the best Android app for a sunny ride?

Myself and partner both use different apps when riding and neither of us have difficulty seeing the screen. Been out in the sun a few times lately and both phones are on the handlebars.

    Buying from Aliexpress

I would think that credit cards section 75 would be operative wherever you spent the money so long as it was over £100.

    Power expectancy and Wattage.

Andy, I know your views on mid motors and you are well entitled to them but coming from someone who once said that anyone with a mid motor needed their head examining I find the above quote a bit condescending. To the OP, inTurbo if it’s flat you will probably get 15 miles. If hilly it will be...

Just how long should a spoke be.

Don’t really understand your question re bending the spoke. If the tyre is off and the nipple is out then there is no need to bend the spoke. Measure it flush with the rim and fit the nipple. If the tyre is on and the nipple is still in place, captivated by the rim tape, then you will have to...

Ditto. It's very easy to lift the front wheel going over large rocks whilst in turbo.

    Strava Changes

I've used Memory Map for at least 10 years. It does everything you mention and more but is probably a lot more expensive than Strava. I have complete UK OS25k maps that cost £120. I can actually draw a route like a path on the map as opposed to point to point plotting and convert to GPX. When...

Just how long should a spoke be.

Earlier this year my partner had three spokes break, at separate times whilst out on rides. The wheel has now been replaced. However on all three occasions I managed to replace the spokes without removing the tyre. Being on the nearside rear wheel I had to remove the rotor to insert the new...

    Help! trek e/bike

No, two pot system and as far as I can remember it was a 180mm rotor. Same set up as on my Cube at the moment. Don’t t have any issues braking, all off road.

    Help! trek e/bike

I had a Trek 18 months to 2 years ago and some batches of the Sram guide brakes had faulty non return valves causing loss of fluid pressure. If too much lever slack is not the problem I would try different pads. I eventually changed my front brake to a Shimano XT.

Collection & delivery options during lockdown

Well it worked for me for years. Parcel Express just asked for the weight of my parcel, averaged 5 - 20kg. Not sent anything for the last two years though. A company sent me 50kg of cast iron weight six months ago and delivery was £18.

Collection & delivery options during lockdown

If your commuting bike had broken and you needed one for work then it may be an essential journey. Parcel Express used to collect things from me, 25kg shouldn’t be too much.

    more bikes on road

If the number of cyclists on the road has doubled then, per capita, the number of accidents has remained the same. I would guess that the number has more than doubled therefor the accident rate would be lower. I agree that speeding rate has gone up but wonder, as there are 80% less cars on the...

    more bikes on road

I read a motorcycle and cycle report a couple of years ago saying that wearing hi viz made no difference to accident statistics. When driving, someone in hi viz catches my eye over a much greater distance, hence I will continue to wear it whilst on the bike.

    Shaving legs

The point of shaving legs and arms is to not have the tarmac ripping it out as you slide along the road. Thereby doing more painful damage than necessary. There must be a slight aerodynamic advantage on the flat but I would rather have the hair brake advantage when going downhill.
