    Help with the law please

I think that's the best message - ignoring all this legal/not legal/above 15mph/below 15mph/above 250w/below 250w/throttle/no throttle rubbish at the end of the day no matter what bike you're on you need to act and ride responsibily and have consideration for others that share the cylce routes*...

    Help with the law please

Trust me, they won't find this one :-) As an aside, my vehicle locks itself when I walk away from it ;)

    Help with the law please

I'm building a two stage throttle for mine, in the first mode the throttle does upto 16mph then you have to "do something else" to get it to go up to 25mph. The odds of someone else figuring out that "something" else are slim to none, and no, I wont be publishing it on the internet.

    Help with the law please

That'd be me :-) Quite right. I've decided it's not fast enough so I've ordered a couple more batteries to up the speed to 25mph. Cheers

Boo! I've got tickets to the mountain biking.

    Olympic Venue bike ban

Bikes are only banned from being INSIDE the Olympic Venues - you can still ride your bike TO the venues and lock them up outside in the specially constructed secure cycle parks.

    Speedict Power/bike computer

You can connect either side to the battery - the speedict can monitor current draw from the battery OR if you connect it to a charger current input. If you're getting zeros then swap the battery to the other side.

    Bafang Bpm @ 66.6v nominal 18s lipo

Is that the mini monster controller? If so, I have the same on my commuter bike and it's a very flexible controller. I'm currently putting together the bits to convert my full sus bike and I'll be using the same controller and BPM hub as well. If you're programming it have a look at the XPD...

    New build.

Yeah, tbh I won't mind so much if I kill it - I want to give the other two lighweight hubs a go to compare as well - the Cute 100 and the Bafang SWXU.

    New build.

Yeah, I've noticed that when the hub is cold especially, that you have to be very gentle on the throttle else you get the cluctch slip and associated "chatter". Dropping the controller amp limit from 15a to 13a seems to have solved most of that and if I'm rolling at 8mph+ I can full throttle...

    New build.

I think what will help the longevity of my motor is that my commute has only two really short hills (one 200m and one 50m in length) and I peddle them both and I NEVER use the throttle from a standing start, and I've kept the peak watt draw to 650watts which is 13 amps in the controller. I'll...

    New build.

Hehe, I'm building up a front wheel with a Q100 hub just in case. Having said that, the Tongxin has just passed the 700 mile mark @ 44.4v so doing ok so far.

    New build.

Just ordered a pair of Zippy 3s5ah packs to parallel up then series into my existing 12s2p 10ah pack. Lets see how long my little Tongxin lasts at 63v

    Battery advice

This is why I always buy offshore items with a credit card. The moment they stopped communicating with me I'd have raised a dispute and obtained a refund. Credit card companies don't mess about with shady businesses.

    New build.

That's exactly what I'm going to do - as soon as the two sizes of rubber lined p-clips I ordered arrive ;-) Not sure if you can see it in the photos but it's effectively wedged in where it is with rubber at the top and rubber where it touches the controller.

    New build.

Another evolution. Before:- Wasn't quite happy with the battery solution or more specifically the carrying method. Yes it was light but it looked a bit ameteurish and I was concerned about the packs being upside down and stressing the cables and also about theft and susceptibility to...

    Cctv camera footage

Our barriers have a big "Cyclists dismount and use footpath" sign attached. Apparently cyclists are to small to trigger the sensor.
