Are these tow trailers really safe in the dark?

Bike trailers, child safety and the media's fear agenda | MNN - Mother Nature Network Child bicycle trailer safety Beginner's Guide To Cycling With Kids - BikeRadar I can find many more articles and evidence that supports towing kids in trailers is not inherently more dangerous than may...

Are these tow trailers really safe in the dark?

I don't really think you can fit a child seat to mine. I'm sure I can figure out a way to hook the trailer up though.

I'm buying a recumbent at the end of this month!

Are these tow trailers really safe in the dark?

It's legal actually :-) Or as legal as any kit bike can be. But why bring that up - what's that got to do with the topic? Woop! Woop! Sense of humour failure. Woop! Woop! And you don't like my attitudes but you were more than happy to sell me a wheel with a motor that I could use on...

Are these tow trailers really safe in the dark?

You're right but you're ignoring the fact that being in a car (and doing the extra miles) in the first instance makes an accident more likely. I've got the numbers somewhere but there are more fatalities and serious injuries per mile with children travelling in a car than there are with...

Are these tow trailers really safe in the dark?

Yeah, but how many people load their kids into cars? And how many kids die in cars every year? Is a child in a trailer at increase risk of being injured or killed as opposed to travelling in a car? The stats suggest not. Perceived risk and actual risk are vastly different things. Not just...

Are these tow trailers really safe in the dark?

That's exactly it - I effectively have one spare! And my wife has a nice a**e, so it's nice view when bringing up the rear, if you'll excuse the pun!

    Ladies lightweight ?

I know you said you didn't like folders but folding bicycles are often lighweight and are easy to get on and off - much like a step through. How about something like this? Not tiny wheels either (it has 20" rims, not 16").

Are these tow trailers really safe in the dark?

Yeah, I've never had a problem - racked up thousands of miles with our trailers. Eldest is now to old so he goes on his own bike, sandwiched between the wife in front and me with the trailer and two kids in it at the rear.

Are these tow trailers really safe in the dark?

That was kind of my point. You got hit riding a bike - trailer or not has nothing to do with it. If a child was on a normal bike, they still be about the same height, so I can't see what difference being in a trailer or riding their own bike makes - other than you can be confident they are in...

Are these tow trailers really safe in the dark?

If the trailer has a light attached to the rear then I can't see how they are any more of a hazard in the dark over a normal cycle.

    Battery Bag

Just ordered a bag from buggy bags - full length zip from front to back on the top/left and a small pocket at the top/front/right for small items (wallet, works pass, phone etc) for £48 + £4.50 p+p to the following dimensions:- That's a bargain I think.

    New build.

Continued from prev post (too many photos). Job done - wouldn't even know it's on from above. tested and works a treat - activates about 1/4 into the lever travel - so shouldn't "false trigger" if I'm just resting my fingers on the lever:-

    New build.

Ok - just spent an hour in the garage fitting a brake cut off switch to the rear Magura lever:- First up - one reed switch and a magnet. Solder fly leads to switch:- Encapsulated in heat shrink for weatherproofing:- Epoxy magnet and switch to underneath the lever (zip tied in place...

    Anyone know about import duty?

Everytime I get goods delivered from Fedex and they get caught by customs I only play the VAT - I withold the "handling charge" as imo that's unsolicited goods or services. I get a couple of irate letters stating I haven't paid in full but I reply to quoting the Unsolicited Goods and Services...

For the all weather cyclists - fantastic deal jacket

I have a GoreBikeWear lightweight jacket - about the thinnest GoreTex you can get - and I still build up condensation in my jacket - even when pedaling moderately. If I pedal hard (trying to mess with Strava users ;-) ) then it's daft. So in the end I end up taking a separate windproof and...
